The first thing that I always do when I repaint a DDM mini, is to clean it up well with knife and then wash it up.

Then I must choose the primer, I usally use very light gray for my minis, but in this case, the result that I wanted was something dead, so I begun with black primer.

For the bone painting, I’ve only photographed the head, but the technic is the same for the entire body.

Immediatly after that, I used a mix ofbrown and black

then I used layers of colors ranging from dark brown to lighter brown, until bone white.

In total I used 9 layers of paints to get it done, here there are only some of the passages, but I think that they explane quite well the technic used.

Keep attention always to paint smaller area each time the color is changed, leaving a small amount of the precedent color on the mini.

For the teeth I used a mix of brown and yellow, and, with the same metod just explained, I’ve painted several layer of color, ranging from brown to white mixed to yellow

The eyes were painted using wet blending, mixing the colors when they were not yet dried, begining with a mix of black and red and ending with pure red with a drop of white.

For the decaying flesh I used a mix of red, blue and black, and then I enlightened it with red mixed with al little of grey and blue.

For the remaining scales and skin, I painted several layer of blue mixed to black and then to grey and then to white to get an effect of “corrupted” blue.

All the “junction” point that I encountered (for example the joint of the wings and so on) I blended the bone color until I obtained a dark brown/red zone, similar to the decayed flesh or skin.

For the wings bones I used the same method used for the head.

for the internal parts of the wings, instead,  I first used a layer of brown, then I painted a brown/yellow layer, leaving the part where there was the little sculpted channels unpainted .

The next layer was lighter then the first and so on.

the external part of the wings where identically made except for the use of  blue violet layer instead of  brown-yellow.

The last thing I’ve made up was the base, Iused piece of cardboard, covered with absorbent paper and vinilic glue. Then I added sand mixed with glue and piece of useless miniature like a skull a sword and a shield. Then I primed with black and then painted it.

Here it is the final result

I’m sorry for my terribile english, please be patient!

Being a huge Dracolich fan, I find this to be a very nice repaint. If I had half that talent I would redo my own. But I'm affraid I'll make it look worse...lol. Anyway, good job.
