| That looks much better than my version -- which basically consists of a Maug kicking an Abyssal Maw like a soccer ball...

| Thanks for the kind words, folks!
Here's a basic description of how it was done:
I cut the weapon out of styrene plastic. First I drew it roughly on the plastic sheet in pencil, then using a combo of scissors and an exacto blade, I cut it out. Then I used the blade to shave it and give it some contour and irregularity (as the drawing indicates it has).
Meanwhile, I had drilled out the Maug's hand using a dremel. I then cut my new weapon in half and trimmed down either end so they fit into the Maug's fist like pins. Once a snug fit was determined, I pulled them, applied superglue, then placed them back.
Using epoxy putty (green stuff), I filled in any gaps around the grip to strengthen the whole bond. After a few hours I painted the new weapon.
The key is really eye-balling the right length and width of the weapon relative to the Maug's body. Mine actually should be a little bigger based on the art, but I wanted him to be easy to store and transport as I plan on using him in a regular LE warband.
Hope this helps!

| Nice, I really like it, have you done any other modding projects?

Not really anything major. I did sculpt a hat onto Snig Warg Rider for my buddy, who won't play Snig without his hat! It actually helps the look of that rather unfortunate model a little.
No pics of that yet. I have also done some complete re-paints of Snig and the Scarlet Brotherhood Monk, among others.
I was just really inspired by Wayne Reynolds' original Maug art in FF, and so I gave the mod a shot.
Thanks, again!

I agree that it looks SO much better than the "Dance Dance Revolution" Maug that came in Bloodwar. They barely fit the regular Maug into the booster packs as it is though. They would have had to save it for the next huge set. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre | |

They would have had to save it for the next huge set. Or just made it the proper size in the first place. It is too big proportionally compared to a human. The creature looks like a huge creature on a large base.

| Very cool mini.
By the way, how about entering the Uncommonly common challenge? It's at the top of the Craft thread. It's fun, it's easy and it's free.
