I assume you are using a digital camera, yes? In that case, never use digital zoom. You are much better off ramping the resolution way up and only zoom in to the max of the optical zoom.

5MP Digital camera, no zoom, no flash, tripod, timer, multiple 'natural' light sources, macro setting.
I shoot with small aperature and large aperature and vary the exposure
from -1.0 to +1.0 to see which gets the best results (generally about
the same)
The camera is physically as close to the mini as it can be and still focus.
Still can't get respectable shots of medium and smaller minis

| | Here is a quick tip on digital cameras. You do not want to place the camera too close to your mini---try 8 to 12 inches--or 15 - 25 cm for you metric folks----then use any standard photo shop software to zoom in and crop the photo. | | | |

| That did it. I had my camera too close to the mini. Thanks for the tip, ransom
I changed the background back to my usual white for better light bouncing as well. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Champion of Dwarven Thunderlashers Knight of the Large Dire Chicken Have/Want List Trade References | |
