It's good of you to ask. The upper towers and keep buildings lift off to reveal (even if I say so myself) a pretty cool interior.
Shown below are the castle kitchen, castle storeroom and the Grand Hall.

The interiors really make the castle come alive, and of course, no RPG would have much use for a castle you couldn't wander about inside. How do you store it? | |

Thanks for the nice words.
I use the UHU Office glue pens as recommended by the company who make the PDF files. I occasionally need to repair the odd bit as the bond eventually gives way, but it's pretty good and I never get much warpage.

Yep, the PDFs are bought from WorldWorks Games. They are a fantastic bargain and I'd thoroughly recommend their products to anyone looking to experiment with building their own terrain.

As mentioned above, the patterns are supplied from a compant called WorldWorks Games. See here for much more info

In terms of cost, the PDF files from WWG only cost $15 - an absolute bargain.
However, you do have to factor in card, prinetr ink, pens, glue etc. It can add up. I have no idea how much the castle cost to build, but taking into account everything above, it's north of $100 (and at least 100 hours of creative fun).

For something made of thin card, I think it is incredibly sturdy. Each of the house floors are made of 1/4" foamboard, which gives it plenty of strength.
I haven't used it in anger yet (scheduled for a 2 day D&D session in Jan), but I don't anticipate trouble with minis or hands. I do worry about glasses of beer though !
I did use my cardstock village for a game earlier this year and it survived very well indeed. I'm not anticipating any problems with the castle.
I'll probably post a few pix of the gameplay.

| | Very nice set-up you have there. I thought the buildings were mostly empty inside, but I love the little items like sacks, tables, barrels, and shelves that you included. They'll make for a more realistic role-play. Also, I know that most castles have moats, but rarely do people include them when fabricating their own - that was a nice touch. | |

When I started building, I had very little idea what I was going to produce. The WWG sets are very versatile and modular, so I simply built a whole heap of walls, floors, towers and keep buildings until I started to form a plan.
It just grew from there really. I had little thought to the interiors either when I started. It wasn't until I saw what a difference props made to the first few rooms that I decided to build props for every room. I'm glad I did. The WWG portfolio includes lots of useful props, which when rounded out with the Dwarven Forge stuff really bough it all to life I think.
I can't wait to add minis.
