Hey folks, thought that I might share some work that I did last weekend. All are for the most part sone, just some touching up and sealing needs to be done... but i found myself with an extra few minutes before work, so i snapped a few pics. The Owlbear is one of three i was preparing for an RPG encounter this weekend. I am mildly happy with how this one has turned out, but i'm pretty close to scrapping the scheme and trying something different for the other two. I just don't know yet, give me some feedback on this one especially. The Sand Giant is a mod and paint that I have wanted to do for a long time. I just don't feel that the original paint scheme really played to the strengths of the sculpt, or was really worthy of a rare. I realize that the mold and paint are pretty close to the monster manual depiction, but still it bugged me. My original intention with this one was to make a leader for a group of fair skinned barbarian types with a late bronze age scandanavian feel. Its probably the coat-of-plates he's wearing, i dunno. anyway, I have a bunch of repainted Stonechilds that needed a leader, but i got sidetracked from the blue Woad tatoos and such by how funny the Spiderman homage is, if you get it you get it. I really need to take care of some of those mold lines and probably do a better job with some greens on the repositioned arms. He's ok for now, I'll probably try again on another extra. The Dire Tiger was a pull in a sealed event over the weekend (got second to Vol/barghest/babau with my hoboMarshall/Rastlin/tiger) It was immediately apparent that 1) the dire tiger is in DIRE need of better stripes, 2) it really needs some work on the seams and, 3) this isn't a dire tiger, it is at best a Tiger of Legend (MMII iirc) what with the no bony protrusions and plates. I'm pretty happy and consider it an improvement, but I think that I've learned some lessons that I'd be more than happy to apply to a second try. Then again, any effort on this mini could be considered an improvement... Anyway, give me your thoughts, impressions, critique. I've already noticed alot just by taking pictures in good lighting and magnifying them, getting better angles and such. so I'll probably tackle some issues tonight if I have time. Also, let me know what you think about the Owlbear as I want to have all three done by Sunday if possible.
