I painted this guy up for the Human Duskblade I'm playing in a Dragonlance game.
First, a before, but I had to steal it from WotC 'cause I didn't take a pic of mine, which was a good bit worse looking than their pic....the paint on it was very sloppy.

The year: 1994. From out of space comes a runaway planet, hurtling between the Earth and the Moon, unleashing cosmic destruction! Man's civilization is cast in ruin!
Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn...
A strange new world rises from the old: a world of savagery, super science, and sorcery. But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice! With his companions Ookla the Mok and Princess Ariel, he pits his strength, his courage, and his fabulous Sunsword against the forces of evil.
He is Thundarr, the Barbarian!

Very nice! An improvement over the original for sure! I didn't care much for the overall brown/gold look it had initially. The silver armor and studded leather boots/bracers look much better on him as well.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Very nice color palette. Definitely wouldn't have recognized the mini without the gallery pic.

I'd suggest a very thin blackwash to bring out the detail more. Just make sure it's very thin since you wouldn't want to glop up that paintjob.

Blackwash is one of those things that I've not yet learned how to do properly and since this guy is gonna be featured in every pic of the dragonlance game I'm playing in, I didn't wanna start experimenting and have to repaint my repaint

My blackwash tends to consist of one drop of Delta Ceracoat Black (yup, just one drop and from the small bottle, not the large since the small bottle gives smaller drops) plus 6-8 drops of water. Apply using a larger brush.

I've found that the problem with washes tend to fall into two categories.

1) The wash isn't thin enough.
2) The brush used is too small to soak up sufficient wash and tends to leave black smudges on the raised parts of the mini.

I had to re-do a couple of minis because I was nervous about putting too much wash on, worried about over-thinning, used a smaller brush (#000), and wound up just smudging black onto the mini. Now the only time I use a smaller brush is when I want to only wash a specific area (then I use a #1 brush or slightly larger).
