| Hey gang,
I've commissioned Zenthrus to repaint an Oni for me. Initial ideas(mine) are to be red(devilsih), something totally radical but workable.
I know that he has a cold cone and lightening bolt in his attacks, should that be kept as a base? I have 4 of the buggers and decided one needed to
be a bit more lively out on the map. Zent is a capable guy and has done some other work for me "Baby storm" Aspect Of Kord. I suck @ painting so
why not have somebody who can do it!
My reason for a repaint: No eyes(well blue, barely-white dots maybe?), his accessories need some work I think and last but not least the horns can be treated as a devil of some sort.
Thoughts/input are welcome while the process is done(some may be taken into consideration) as I am totally excited about this re-paint.

| Oni arrived today and I went right to work on it.
My first observations:
#1) This is a really cool sculpt with a really bad paintjob.
#2) I'm not a big fan of two-handed weapon grips on miniatures (since in order to really get the underlying fine detail right you have to take the arms off).
#3) WotC has dramatically increased the difficulty in removing limbs. While this is a good thing for your average DDM purchaser (your sculpts won't fall apart anytime soon) it sure puts a damper on the repainter's day (took almost an hour to remove the arms without damaging the mini or seriously warping the base).
The more I look at the sculpt, the more excited I am to paint it. There is a ton of nice detail which is just lost under the factory paint. | |

| It's a good thing I don't charge by the hour
I've just about finished the pants/boots/sash. Finished the first three layers of the skin and virtually all of the armor. I think that's about it for one day, though.
I'm going fast enough that if anyone has suggestions now's the time for them.

| Standard price for large minis is $25. If you want anything really fancy (extensive freehand/NMM/customization/basing) it's extra.
I feel like a Chinese sweat-shop since I make ~$2/hour on repaints. But they're fun (and I'm very happily taking commissions). | |

The second one hasn't been painted yet, so suggest away. Once the touch up work on the red one(my fault)-I'll have 2 blues and a red. So...any and all suggestions are welcome. Early ideas, from me anyway are a reddish blue scheme. My only other thought is maybe leaning to a blue black scheme. Chime in people please!
