I just bought a Praying Paladin, and a couple of other Reaper miniatures.

I have never worked on minis like this, and was wondering what's the best kind of bases to get for these? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm a big fan of Litko Aero bases. They're laser-cut and come in virtually any size.

I use Litko bases for rebasing (Mage Knight), adding bases (for Reaper/Horse Tube), and replacement bases (my Archfiend Vrocks).

I use Games Workshop bases. They come in large packs (uniform or assorted) and square or round. If you want your Reaper to fit in with DDM, I'd suggest the round 25 mm bases. They're also relatively cheap.

If you picked up figures from their Dark Heaven Line (with integrated base) try to get the bases without slots -- it just makes it a little easier to make them look good. If your figure is from their Warlord Line, you'll probably want to get bases that do have the slots so that the Warlord figure fits into the slot. (Although most Warlord figures include a base.)

The easiest choice is to glue the entire mini as is to the round base and paint as desired. A little more work but better appearance (IMO) is to add a little greenstuff around the reaper base on top of the round base so it blends in better. Finally, probably the most difficult choice would be to cut the Reaper figure off of its base and glue it directly onto the new base.

And then basing it with sand, ballast, flock, static grass, etc. is a whole other topic!

Lastly, if you want more expensive (and better looking) bases, you could also check out Back-2-Base-ix (http://www.back2base-ix.com/) for scenic, sculpted resin bases.

Three of the minis I got were Dark Heaven. I also found a Sasquatch that my son will like a lot. It's from Chronoscope.

I have painted D&D, and HeroClix minis before, but never tried the pewter. It will probably be an adventure.

Thanks for the help, I believe my questions have been answered.
