A) I'm all over it. B) I'll try it and see how it plays. C) I'll wait for others to try it, and decide whether or not to try it based on the number of people playing it. D) Only if I'm dragged kicking and screaming. E) DDM is all there is, what is this blasphemy? | | My online store http://store.hoardsters.com Use quick search to see scans of every stat card!

I've read over the rules, and am surprised by how clean they seem. DDM doesn't seem that clean even now. I think the reason for this is that DDM is based off a completely different game, and attempts to be loyal to it.
I like that you can have some variety to your warband, probably have a core of 8-12 minis, and then variable tech of 4-8 minis to bring in against specific warband types. I don't really see how that can possible be worked into DDM.
I don't like the rule that when there is a tie for initiative that the winner is however has won the most initiatives previously. Too much to keep track off. Buts that is about it for messy rules at this point.
I really wish they could have worked a D20 in there. | | My online store http://store.hoardsters.com Use quick search to see scans of every stat card!

Just no real interest.
It is a tournemnt game. It is clean with very little ambiguity. Good players will almost always beat lucky players. It will player quicker which makes it easier to organize. All good if competitive play is what your after.

| I'm half-way between A and B. I'll still collect DDM, because they are still useful for DDM, Mordheim, and DnD. Some of the DB stuff might be useful for Mordheim and DnD too. We'll see. Actually, with the larger scale, some of the DB stuff might be useful for Inquisitor. Also, I hope this cools off the secondary market somewhat. I'd actually like to get some of the older pieces without losing an arm and a leg.

| I may buy a Starter just to see what it's like, and thats pretty much it, unless a single or two catches my eye.
Don't know if it's been said but I'm afraid that after awhile all this game will be is a reason for WoTC to put creatures like WTF into a miniatures game without the D&D community gong ballistic on them.

I'm not realy all that interested in learning or playing this new game. I'll just be on the lookout for some large Cthonic Critters. I will most likely play this game along side of DDM since the rules and gameplay mechanics are somewhat different. It seems to be kind of like taking DDM and making it even more chess like with a splash of MtG mechanics and an aftertaste of Hecatomb. | | **overlong signature deleted. | F - It gets a failing grade from me. I guess B really. If I have friends who play it and they talk me into playing it with their stuff I'll try it out. I don't see myself shoveling any money into it. I only have so much money to put out there. Honestly I can see the DDM minis guy at my FLGS getting me to try it out but not at any cost. Just like I wouldn't pay to play a game of MTG anymore either.

Weren't they 40mm scale, those are DDM Larges. Some x-acto here and there, new base, voilá! something that could be useful for RPG. Hopefully they are so different that there is no need, but the large werewolf looking dude and the gibbering mouther looking thing could be useful. | | Trades >> Completed: 49 | Bad: Ø | Pending: 0 | Trade & talk Live on IRC! I'm depressed because I am into DDM for the skirmish (which isn't that large of a community, comparitively), and I think this is likely to kill that aspect of the game. Oh well. I've got enough RPG figs already, this just means I can save my money. | | -DaemonKain Proud Mascot of Team Amish

I like DDM as a skirmish game. I like DDM as a source for RPG minis. I'll admit I might pick up a single or two if they have pertinent RPG applications but generally speaking Dreamblade is a definite "meh."
My extremely limited, non-D&D-related game spending goes for video games (one or two per year) and innovative board/card games (i.e. Apples to Apples, The Totally Insane Card Game). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. I'm a skirmisher and I don't have the time or money for another expensive game, but if the serious skirmishers where I play end up leaving for this game (which I seriously doubt would happen), I would then consider migrating myself, as I would miss the competition and gaming. | | Completed trades: arbados Completed 23 trades on Hordelings www.hordelings.com - http://www.hordelings.com/directory/profile.php?user_id=429

The more games their is the more DDM becomes diffiriented, and i believe it will be as popular as hexacon... Pls wizards put your money in improving the paint work in DDM becouse then you could steal the market from companies like GW, and that consumer group are larger than those who are interested in jet another game...
