| I noticed in the GAMA pics, what looks to me like a Hook Horror. He's got one claw held high and his head is reared back like he's dropping something frm the tip of his claw into his mouth...
Dreamblade will name it different, but that's what it looks like to me. | | May you find peace and happiness at the hand of Hextor.

| I have noticed similarities between some of the DB and DMM minis. There a mutated versions of King Obuld, Silver/Blue dragon, Wrackspawn, Gibbering Mouther, Yuan-Ti among others in this set. It kind of makes sense for a couple of reasons. For one thing since it is a "Dream" the battle takes place in we should expect to see warped versions of our own reality show up. Another is, from a manufacturing standpoint, you can get a lot more mileage out of your product line if you create some new minis from scratch and some that are modifications of existing sculptures. The sizes may be different but creating the artwork is a bit simpler if some of them start from a template of sorts.
Now, the Boots? Not sure how hard that was to conceive. It more than likely is a location. It could be a giant pair of Mutated Stinky Sneakers the Ogre wore for three months without cleaning them. Who knows.

Im sorry, did you just refer to Wrackspawn and Helmed Horrors as "reality"????
The creativity limits are those of the artists doing the sketchs. When you ask an artist to produce "a hooked monster with his head back feeding".. um.. its gonna be a combination of our interpretations and the artists.. they are trying to fulfill the request, we are trying to see more into this than there might be. | | Minis... | I don't know--we have no idea who the artists are who're doing the concepts OR the sculptors. There might be a similar brain-trust here.
As far as reading too much into it. . . well, we've got nothing but time! | | *WoTC Delegate (Chicago)* :=: My Trade Thread :=: DISPUTED TRADE WITH TREE DRUID!!!!!!!!

| Ack, ack, ack, ack......
By "warped versions of our own reality" I meant the DDM minis we play with, not that those creatures are actually real. [:p] | | **overlong signature deleted. Please see posting guidelines**

| | I'm sure a lot of the artists are using the same poses, etc of some of the ones that have come out for D&DM. I know a lot of people are looking at Dreamblade and trying to find proxies for certain D&DM monsters, to sort of add variety. But I personally wouldnt get out of hand with it. I might pick up a few on the secondary market, but for the most part, D&DM does pretty well for my needs. But there's always a few that wouldnt be bad to pick up. | | Champion of a Knight of Takhisis/Knight of Neraka | |

Wait a minute: did you say mutated version of WT... I mean Wrackspawn??!! ;) As for Boots, I'm probably commenting out of context, but doesn't the WTSpawn have but one Boot? ;)
Anyway, just my 2 ep worth,
