As I know it is DDM qualifying season right now, I'm still surprised how quiet it has been on these boards. I have a feeling that as June gets closer the conversation will pick up... especially after Wizard World East when some people play the game.

Well, I for one have been extemely busy with work. Any spare time I have is being spent on practicing for my qualifier. After that, I expect I'll have more time to play some Dreamblade, and I'm hoping to get some locals excited about it as well. I bet others are in the same boat.

It's a tough crowd. Too much experience buying into "games" that suck, dropping $30, $50, $200 on something shiny whose main purpose turns out to be separating you from your money rather than actually being fun/challenging/rewarding to play. That and the games that are out there, that live, have people with real lives that are already full; why another game?

So, a combination of cynical experience and satisfaction with what's out there now keeps "the buzz" low.

Not being negative; I'm psyched about this game (much to my surprise actually). It's simply a blast to play, and given a chance I can see it becoming a Next Big Thing among the CCG tourney crowd. (Yes, the CCG crowd.) I look forward to it coming out, and getting a following. But gamers have become a tough sell. We've been around too much, rode hard, put away wet too many times. Hence it's quiet in the run up.

I am very excited about this game. I know one of the stores I go to wants to start running events as soon as possible. I think this game could be very big.

I know that a friend of mine and I will be doing some games with the virtual starter. Maybe even tonight to get some practice in. When the virtual booster comes out next week, IIRC, then the play will really increase.
