| Admittedly, I have not read the rules yet. One thing I thought I read early on was that the basic rules would not need so many clarifications as in DDM. Then, I went to the dreamblade forum on WotC today and saw the discussion on blades and multiple somthings. There was a lot of confusion and long posts. Then I try to follow your spawnning thread - ouch!
So, can I teach this game to my kids, or is it more complex than DDM? And, really, is it as good as those of you that went to the demo believe? I doubt I can afford another game, but I admit to being intrigued. | | Fastest dropping DCI ranking on record! Champion of Juiblex

Your kids might like it more than you! It's extremely simple, and THEY won't worry about spawn probabilities or the ideal warband building curve. [)]

The discussions here and on the WotC boards are pretty esoteric, and largely over things which really aren't going to come up that often particularly in casual games.

How old are your kids?

| The combination of the complete rules, floor rules, big money prizes, spoilers, and ability to play the game virtually means that Dreamblade is now a known quantity with motivation to get to know it. You can bet that hundreds, if not thousands, of gamers are doing that right now. And have been for a few weeks.
In that time the number of threads about rules glitches has been tiny. Actually non-existent; no real glitches – as in “this makes no sense and can’t be made sense of reading what’s published” – have been found that I know of. Those things less than glitches – two people reading the same thing and coming to different conclusions – have been brought up, and the number of those is tiny.
This is not from simply reading the rules, this is along with play experience. Actually trying to implement what’s written.
To my mind that’s amazing. Game rules are notorious for their badness: illogical, contradictory, unintuitive, hard to read… it’s all there on my game shelf. Some of those are head detonating. The Dreamblade rules aren’t. They’re incredibly well crafted and tight.

| I'm fairly certain that the rules for Dreamblade are the most well written set of rules that I've ever read in my 28 years of gaming experience.
The rules are simple, concise and consistently worded. I was thoroughly impressed by them. I have also been able to explain the game to my 6 and 8 year old daughters. The 4 year old daughter could care less about it. LOL.
