Hey all! I've only picked up a couple of boosters and a starter of Dreamblade,  but when I was on ebay I saw that the Scarab Warcharm is much more expensive than most of the other rares in the set. I was just wondering why, and sorry if this has been asked before.

I was talking to bshrugg today, one of the other members here and one of the top players at GenCon 2006, and he mentioned that besides being an efficient piece (high stats to cost ratio- see the dreamblade stats table on the menu bar) it has some superb special abilities, making it a very good piece.

One of the things you must remember about the Scarab Warcharm is that just because it's a good piece doesn't mean you should spawn it and expect it to do well on its own.  ideally, you should have the Warcharm in the same cell as:

1. At least onehigh-power hitter, preferably one who does not use blade abilities (or has a negative blade).

2. A bodyguard so that your opponent doesn't wipe it out quickly.

When using that strategy, I have been able to use its blade abilities to change the entire battlefield around.

The Skirmish ability of this piece in particular is extremely useful and powerful. I love it.

Check out this article that covers it in detail:
