I prefer the Dreadmorph Ogre as a large beatstik. Going 2nd multiblade-expel, could potentially win the turn. Just by moving enough enemy creatures out of contested cells. And these big beatstiks usually don't turn up till late in the game, when winning a turn just on luck can be decisive.. However the dreadmorph does require a 1 higher roll on the spawn dice to play. So potentially you could play the Eater-of-Hope on a turn when it's simply not legal to play the Dreadmorph. As for "Practical" beatstiks. I think multiple medium priced units {Faceless Stalker, Loyal scragglemaw, Jack of Blades etc} are much more practical to play. It's noticable if you do the maths, the more expensive the unit, the less cost-effective it is. The only reason that creatures like Eater-of-Hope are worth playing (ever) is that you can't stack 6x2 point creatures in a single cell. If you could they clearly have a lot more power than any one creature. I do think the Eater-of-Hope is one of the "coolest" looking minis in the game. |
