I think 3 inspired samurai is too many for any warband.  I would trade out 1 sami and 1 knight of tommorow for 2 twilight scouts.  And drop one lunar handmaiden for a scarab warcharm.  And 1 loyal stragglemaw for a brighthammer avenger.  That is my 2 cents

I agree with Neratos, also though maybe drop a Knight of Tomorrow for a Knight of Strife & Joy - with the Handmaiden you will have the chance to advance him into position and his 4 dice and blade are better than the other knight even though his def/life are one lower each, I think the trade off would be worth it.  Skirmish 2 is very powerful.

A lot of  the valor figs  trade a bit of their offense for more sturdiness or more special abilities.    That's certainly true for the  scragglemaw, samurai, knight of tommorow and  griffon.   Add in the castle, and your band  is somewhat light on  hitting power for their costs.     This can hurt you against an aggressive band that spends points on  offense rather than defense.     I would try to find a balance between good fighters for their cost,  good support figs, and sturdy figs.     having guys that are tougher, but have lower offense lets your opponents gang up on them and take them down one at a time, while your struggling to kill off their smaller guys.

for individual figure choices, I would start by cutting back the scragglemaws and samurai  and go from there.

Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested!

I'd certainly reduce the number of Samurais. "Bodyguard" is very usefull to protect Passion creatures or Warpstrikers (with low-defense.) But in a pure Valour warband you don't have anything that needs guarding, so you'd be better off spawning another offensive creature instead of the Samurai.

Personally I'd keep the Scragglemaws. Defense 11 is the highest in the game (as good as the noble dragon) and they are a lot easier to spawn. Noble Dragons can be killed by luck or massing a lot of fire-power (usually warpstrikes or expel). Killing 3 units that tough would require a lot of  luck, and it's easier to roll 3x9's than 1x12

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

I would recomend splashing a bit of red in there.  Maybe take out one or two of the bodyguards for something with 6 or more dice.  That would give the bodyguards something to protect and give your more dice to hit your blades on.Â
