What are the most dice you've rolled (or seen rolled) as part of a strike?  I'm not including dice resulting from special/blade abilities (like warpstrike).  Only the dice that are rolled as part of the actual strike damage to be inflicted on enemy units in the strike square...Â

How about a 56 dice attack?

You have 3 Carrion Spikers and a Forgeblind Punisher in the cell, with all of the rest of your warband in the graveyard.  Your opponent has 3 Barbstriders lurking in the cell and you've just declared a strike phase...

3*(12+(1*3))+(8+(1*3))=56

Of course if you allowed the use of an Unsatied Ragedrake instead of the Punisher it increases to 58...

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

Today I rolled 6 dice witha dreadmorph ogre resluting in 3 blades. The dmg wasn't very high but I had a reaper in the cell below with a DHC. Lets just say I dealt 27dmg alone with the ambush ability.

Actually, I figured this out once -
3 Forgeblind Punishers and a Painmonger in a cell with a DarkHeart Cottage and 11 unengaged creatures. Your opponent has 3 barbstriders in the cell.

Each Punisher is 8+3+11 = 22
Painmonger is 7+3+11 = 21
22*3 + 21 = 87

As of first set, 87 dice is the highest you can have in a single cell in 1 attack.

Posts where my brain totally derailed have been deleted - thanks mantic!

Apparently my brain confused max number of minis allowed in warband with max number of minis allowed in a cell and ran with it.  Silly brain - need a new one.

Anyway - my original point was that the DHC doesnt add its bonus to each mini - only to the attack as a whole so  smriggin's math is quite a bit off.  His example tops off at 54 dice I believe slightly edged out by the Cariion Spiker example above by 2 measly dice.

Sure wish DHC worked like that but it dont.

As I was walking to work tonight, I was thinking about this subject with regard the new toys we have gained in Baxar's War.  I haven't put a whole lot of thought into it, and given the premise that any situation, no matter how unfeasible is allowed, I've come up with a 73 dice attack.  The question is a) what is the situation I've come with, and b) can you beat it?

3 drakes=30, + the 8 damage passion beater(3,+dhc+11 unengadged(49)+3 empowering maidens nearby(61)+3 barbstriders of enemy= 70! drat. I could do it for multiplayer with another strider in the cell for 73....your thinking of 4 maidens?? if so its illegal..

Actually, you got it froffenhoffer. 3 Barbstriders adds a total of 12 attack dice (inciter 1 * 3 barbstriders * 4 attackers). That's 73. So, is there a way to get more? I haven't come up with a higher number, yet.

You guys do realize that the cottage only adds total dice to the attack, not each creatures power, right? So most of these totals are way off.

I just got a 24-dice-attack off in a game I played.  It was in the 2-score cell, and contained a Dreadmorph ogre (6), Little Charmer (7), Infernal Gothic (5), and Equitar (6).  I did some attracting, and killed most of my opponent's remaining forces.  his deathblow was able to barely disrupt the Gothic.


Amusingly, it ultimately was worth less than two rounds previous, in which the Dreadmorph and FGothic were in the cell directly beneath it (engaged with a bunch of enemies), the Charmer was in my portal (engaged to an enemy I had disrupted there), and the Equitar was halfway into the sidelines.  In THAT combat, the Charmer killed her enemy, the Gothic and Dreadmorph together lured/expelled, and killed 2, and the Equitar moved to engage the expelled enemy.  This set up the next round, in which the Dreadmorph and Gothic joined the Equitar in the center cell, and the Charmer moved closer.  After that, the middle cell was MINE, BABY!

I had a Slaughterwheel running around, which killed one and skirmished itself around.  there was much death.

I managed to get to roll 15 during an Edge Tournament and scored 0 damage along with 5 useless blades. Followed that up with 11 later getting only 2 damage. And yes my dice do have numbers on them!

i just wanted to add that with three sword striders in a cell with a ragedrake surrounded by three maidens and three barbstriders makes a 97
then in an adjacent cell you have 4 warmongers from the anvilborn set which will bring your total to 416 dice (each warmonger has a power of 104=7+97)

Unfortunately you can only have 3 warmongers. 312 is not shabby though. Of course, if you factor this in the portal with no stacking limit, you can get 3 drakes, 3 maidens, 3 swordstriders 3 growlths and a world eater (with of course, the 3 enemy barb striders) next to the 3 warmongers brings the whole thing up to a total of 585 unless my math is off.

I don't think you add the 11 dice to each creature...so I believe you would only get the +11 dice one time.  So that would be 33 dice from the forgeblind punishers +10 from Painmonger, +11 from the DHC = 54 dice.  It would be nice if it worked the other way though.

this is funny -

Each creature in the Portal gets +6 from Maidens and Barbstriders

3 Omen Locusts @ (6+3)x3=27
3 Ragedrakes @ (6+10)x3=48
3 Caged Grawlths @ (6+9)x3=45
2 Swordstriders (mimic Drakes AFTER bonus)@ (6+16)x2=44
3 Maidens @ (2+2)x3=12

The third Swordstrider is in with the Warmongers and so Mimics their 166 dice for a grand total of 664!

I knew we could get it over 600!

So, if you have in...

Cell 2 (Portal, adjacent to Cell 1):

3x Ragedrake (10+6)x3=48
3x Maiden - Enraged (2+5)x3=21
3x Caged Grawlth (9+6)x3=45
3x Omen Locust (3+6)x3=27
2x Forgeblind Punisher (8+6)x2=28
3x Enemy Barbstrider
Total = 169

Cell 1 (combat cell):

3xWarmonger (169+3)x3=516
1x Swordstrider (172+3)=175
1x Enemy Fig
Total = 691

Having the barbstriders in the portal gives an additional 168 dice as opposed to only 29 if they were in the combat cell with a Cottage.

I think that looks about rght. Still over 600.

well - once again there's a problem.  Warmongers text states explicitly "... it gains all the blade abilities of allies in target adjacent cell and gets +X power, where X is the total power of allies in that (the adjacent) cell." So he cant add to his buddies in the combat cell.

But now lets make that shard troll useful and imagine I have a War Eagle in my reserves and the rest of opponents band is in his portal.

3x Ragedrake (10+6)x3=48
3x Maiden - Enraged (2+5)x3=21
3x Caged Grawlth (9+6)x3=45
2x Omen Locust (3+6)x2=18
1x warlust satyr (6+6) = 12
1x shard troll (2+6) = 8
3x Enemy Barbstrider
Total = 152

Cell 1 (combat cell):

3xWarmonger (152+3)x3=456
1x Swordstrider (155+3)=158
3x Enemy dryads + redcap

=614 dice

Double strike for 2 turns with no spawn in between and 25 damage and the rest all blades (and he whiffs on all his strikes/deathblows, of course and for some reason leaves everyone grouped in this portal-LOL) = 2421 dice for Shard Troll after he gets teleported into enemy portal.

Something tells me this will never happen - ya think? LOL

Um... I'm not sure why you think it wouldn't work.  The allies are in the portal, adjacent to the warmonger... same as in the other setups.  The warmonger clones the allies power and the multiblade battle energize.  Then he generates blades for 4 strike phases, putting them into energize. Â

The real attack happens with the shard troll.Â
