My DCI score for dreamblade is fairly low (29) Since ther arn't many DCI registered tournamanets being run in the UK.
Whats woorying is not my score (which is 3rd in the UK)
but that there are only 610 higher scores worldwide. And most of those seem to be from players who were at gencon.
Is that the entire customer base of Dreamblade, if so it's not very many...

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

I wouldn't worry about it too much - the game is what, not even a month old? Personally, I've noticed a large upswing of players at our local Edge tourneys here in Toronto. First week, 2 players. Second week, 4 players. This last Sunday - 8. Things are on the up-and-up...

We had 7 out for our first tournament. These things take time to build up, I wouldn't worry at all.

Hay XAos where are you based?

Give it time, Magic didn't suddenly have thousands of registered players, it took a little time.

I'll be running one every month and if you know of any large get togethers let me know, ther're a few of us willing to travel to find good quality competition.

There are 220 Dreamblade events scheduled (in the US) for this week alone.  Give it time... those numbers will increase.

yes, but magic also came in at a time where tcg's and miniatures weren't really played. But, as everyone else was saying, i wouldn't worry about it, if a piece is going for 80$ online and is actually selling the market can't be THAT bad.

Worrying never helps situations like this one.

If people see worry over topics such as this, they think the product is collapsing and tend to veeraway from jumping on a 'sinking boat'. If there is nothing to worry about... well... then there is no reason to worry.

As has been said: The game is young. Give it a few months and see what it looks like afte the first three expansions have been released. We'll know more then...

XAos - as you know quite a few play in Manchester... and it's growing, with Magic players moving into it...

One of these days WoTC will update their tournament page when I'm in the top 5... they never seem to do when I'm in that bracket :(

Sorry guys, 24th was a bit short notice for me, I was running M:TG pre-release Saturday.
Solo Passion, wasn't it a bit tedious?

Just outside Launceston in Cornwall.
Manchester could work for me, what's happening in Machester?

Sorry about the lack of warning, That tends to be a problem with the Shepards Bush tournaments.
We only managed 4 players. The minimum to make it a valid DCI tournamentl.
A seperate heading for tournaments, will hopefully give us a longer advance warning...

And yes the Passion only thing was tedious. just rolling huge amounts of dice & trying to estimate if it was worth risking a deathblow. I doubt we will repeat that particular experiment. I recall a post on one of the forums that said "you can learn a lot about a faction, by playing it in a mono-aspect warband"

OK, I learnt that Passion is boring.

For details on machester see;
Fanboy-3 Manchester
& navigate to the current months tournament listings.
The shop is about 5 mins walk from either Manchester station (Manchester Picadilly or Manchester Victoria)

Thanks.

At some point I need to come up to London to see some friends, I'll give you a heads up in advance and we can maybe arrange something.

I'll keep an eye on Fanboy, thanks for the heads up.

Ive only started to play within the last week. So I havent had a chance to play any competitive games yet. I live Sheffiled so I plan on going to FanBoy3 for the 1k tournment in October. This should let me gain some experience. Also when I was in my local gaming store the told me that they may be holding a 1k tournment there in November. I dont think people should worry about the size of the game at the moment see that its only been out two months.

What 1k in October?
As I understand it 1k does not go live in the UK until 2007, are you sure you're not thinking of the Edge Tournaments?

Just to let you know that the Bush Bash runs Dreamblade every weekend and Tuesday night as I love the game. The player base is building up with 2 new players this weekend for a sealed.

Events are now going up onto DCI.

I hope to be running Edge tournaments sometime in the future.

If anyone wants to see what is happening please look at the website:
Bush Bash Website

If you have any questions do ask.

Hope to see you
