Just got this game last Wednesday Nov 22 (four days ago) and really like it.  I got 2 starters, 6 base boosters and 6 baxar boosters.  Ok so I played it wrong with a couple of rules and trying to learn all the abilities was at first daunting but now I've got a better grasp.  My intention will never be to enter tournaments just play for pure fun. This is my first collectible game ever. Never played magic nor ever seen a magic card.  Also it's my 2nd miniatures game. 1st being Heroscape.

Only guy I can't understand is the Inspired Samurai...my friend says he has to be disrupted or destroyed BEFORE other creatures in the same cell can be assigned damage.  Is that correct?  I thought it meant you have to get enough damage to disrupt all of the creatures at the same time or otherwise you can't assign damage.

Here's my newbie reference.  Yes just two pages (print duplex for one page) of a rehash of the rules, turn order, definitions, and abilities. All typed out from the rulebook.  Just easier for me than flipping through the rule book and try to jam everything on one piece of paper.  I mainly did it for my friends who I'm introducing to this game.

Your friend is (mostly) right. You have to assign enough damage to disrupt or destroy every bodyguard in the cell before you can assign any damage to other creatures in the cell. Let's say you're up against an Inspired Samurai and a Scarab Warcharm. You roll 11 damage. You have to assign at least 5 to the samurai, leaving at most 6 for the warcharm. If it was two samurai and a warcharm, you would have to assign at least 5 to each samurai, leaving at most 1 for the warcharm. Of course, you could assign those 11 damage all to the samurai in any combination you wished. (It's usually a subtle issue, but you don't actually disrupt or destroy creatures until the end of combat.)

By the way, I noticed one small mistake in your newbie reference in the assign damage section. It's not usually an issue, but it is possible for a creature to have a higher defense score than life score through modifiers. If that happens and you assign damage to the creature equal to its life but less than its defense, you can only destroy it. You only get a choice whether to disrupt or destroy if you do damage equal to or greater than the higher of a creature's defense or life.

Thanks for answering about Samurai...got it now.  As far as that defense higher than modifiers I think I'll leave that to the FAQ.  I wasn't aware of that...now I know...thanks.  Also I made a PDF of the Official Dreamblade FAQ for those who want to print it out (8 pages or 4 duplex).

your saying just change this

If damage is equal to or greater than the life of an enemy creature then you can
either disrupt (avoid deathblows) or destroy a creature.

to this
If damage is equal to or greater than the defense and life of an enemy creature then you can
either disrupt (avoid deathblows) or destroy a creature.

ok in my next update I'll make the change
