passion, finally.
 preview is here:
http://ww2.wizards.com/Dreamblade/Articles.aspx?Doc=20070112a

the figures:

Borg Penitent
4PP
1
1/2
1Y (1 spawn point while in a scoring cell) : Provoke - at the beginning of the opponent's first action phase, if there are local enemies, the opponent must strike during that action phase

Hungry Ghost
5P
4
3/4
(1) Bloodlust- If this creature is unengaged, you may move it into and adjacent enemy-occupied cell

Aviax Firebrand
9P
3
7/9
3Y : War Cry - Choose a local or adjacent cell. Move each creature adjacent to that cell into that cell (you cannot break the stacking limit with this abiity)

and the results:
While borg penitent's ability looks potentially disruptive, it's not likely to be used more than once, and while it's possible that once is all you need, that's rarely true aside from the late game. in sealed in particular, i will be upset to crack this as my rare.

Hungry Ghost: this is pretty straightforward, it's ability might save you from shift-striking, allowing a double strike, but it's another situational ability, not one you'll want to use too often if you lost initiative. it might be useful to tie down your opponent's key figures from going gangbusters in a cell, but overall, unless you're playing pure passion, there are better ways of spending 5 spawn points.

Aviax Firebrand: This ability obviously combos best with dual reaper or dual bringthammer bands (or as tech against them). however, his cost combined with an unpassionlike 3 power and only slightly better than average survivability (for passion),  it seems an expensive way to handle these armies.

I see the firebrand as more of a way for fatty temple bands to bust open other bands that are scared to commit or holding back and trying to control the board. You can esentially reach 2 squares ahead and yank things into your threat range when you win init.

Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested!

If it only works when the enemy has a unit local to the Borg, your (mostly) correct.
But if it works when the enemy has an engaged unit in any cell. The your oppoinent won't be able to shift creatures into the borgs cell before strikeing. So baring an effective roll with blade-{skirmish/advance etc} the borg might be 100% safe from attack that turn.
And that ignores tactics like using a pearlthorn castle to move the Borg back out of the enemies reach.

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

"Provoke - at the beginning of the opponent's first action phase, if there are local enemies, the opponent must strike during that action phase"
The sentence describing that ability is all about the opponent, not about the Borg unit itself. So the phrase "local enemies" could mean "local to the opponent" not "local to the borg".

I'm fairly certain that they'd make it say enganged enemies, not local. local refers to a specific cell in this game.
