| | I heartily advise everyone to come along. It is being run by the games club, the most prolific gaming tournament organisers in London. It is literally 5 minutes walk from Euston station, making it dead easy for all Manchesteries and Birminghamies. Also, I might be judging it, because none of the games club MTG judges know the dreamblade rules, but I am already in the loop.
I would encourage people to preregister on the Games Club website as soon as possible so that they can get an idea of numbers. Also, I would love to know who is coming anyway, so post here if you intend to. | | Thousands of Zulu's, behind You!

| | I know Rob, but I prefer DDM, and usually play that. Besides, I came to the Baxar release, and played some sealed before that, and charlie came to the Chrysotic prerelease (and won). You are aware that this is james right? | | Thousands of Zulu's, behind You!

Ug, I thought you were some other sign in name. I thought I might see you last Sunday as we had players down for D&D as well as Dreamblade of course.

| Hi Guys
I reply from dreamblade fanatics in the Netherlands here.
We have booked a long weekend, to fly out to Manchester for the 10K.
But in preperation we thought to go to the 1K in London on the 10th as well.
We wanted to make a sort of a weekend out of it.. :-)...
We thought of going to the Trocadero too see Sega world ( being into arcade's and all ).
Does anybody know, if this is a good plan ??
And does anybody have any other suggestions, in the game/arcade/visueel category ?? Ow and a decent ( cheap ? :-) ) place to spend the night would be appreciated as well.... Hoping to hear form you...

| The concept of "cheap" hotels & London don't really go together. You should start by checking the prices at the Royal National Hotel. Which is the venue for the 1K & otherwise well placed for tourism in London. And then compare prices for other hotels. You should be able to find some cheaper than the Royal National. Royal national hotel is close to Russel Square tube station. which is 4 stops from Picadilly Circus tube station (the Trocadero) So thats under 10mins travel. You could walk that distance in about 30 mins. | | Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. | You could try: http://www.hostelbookers.com/ - there's likely to be something there, but its a hostel, not hotel | | One of these days WoTC will update their tournament page when I'm in the top 5... they never seem to do when I'm in that bracket :( My Collection My DDM Website And My Trade Refs Be a part of the UK DDM Forum

| | I think Sega World closed several years ago - or maybe it moved. Don't try the drugs or pornography - you Dutch do it far better. Try booking a room in a hostel - there are a few in Central London. There's a great Japanese restaurant on Brewer Street called Ten Ten Tei. Oh, there's a Gilbert and George retrospective at the Tate Modern. I suspect my interests are a little different | | | |

| Thx for the replies guys... I can work with this.
I'm glad to inform that our trip is definit, so there will be three dutch players competing for the 1K price money.
Does the closure of Sega world mean, that there isn't an Arcade in London anymore ??
I still like any suggestions to fill our free sunday in London....

| Head out to Windsor, go to the Tower of London, take in a football match, go to madam tussauds, the British Museum, China Town, Hard Rock Cafe, Greenwich, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Palace or just take a walk up Oxford Road and shop til you drop Also worth a walk up is Tottenham Court Road for the electronics shops.
Get a weekend tube pass - cheapest way around.
Don't worry about being run down by bicycles... more likely to be run down by a Rolls Royce that paid its Congestion Charge

It is also near to Euston tube/mainline train station which is somewhat easier to do. There is a map on the games club website to show how to get euston-royal national. | | Champion of Wildshaped druid in with natural spell!

| To DOB: Come. Screw spoues etc. This is pretty much all that needs saying.
To Mranderson: Good on you for coming over. The county hotel down the road from the royal national is owned by the same chain, but is a bit cheaper I think. Also, there is still an arcade in the trocodero, it is just not sega world.
To all: Please go to http://www.thegamesclub.org/pre-registration.htm to pre-register if you are coming. Foreign interest is a really good sign, and it would be nice for the first London 1K to go with a bang.

| | No. There are going to be hundreds of people who have over 1000 points, and they aren't going to help them all get there. There are rumors that maybe some top players will get flights out there, but even that is pretty unlikely. | | I am not gone. | |

| I sent an email to the address on that web site weeks ago to say I was.
Note; New DCI floor rules which come into effect on March-10th i.e. the date of this tournament see DCI rules
It's not clear if a 1K event is "competative" or "professional" ? and it makes a major difference to the new penalties for rolling too many dice.

| Worry not Steve, I have read them. And yes, your opponent choosing which dice to knock out is very bad for you indeed. See everyone there tommorow.
edit: I'll check with Jason, but right now I am assuming it is competitive. Since I am judging, you should assume that as well unless I say otherwise. | | Thousands of Zulu's, behind You!

| I can give some feedback: 4th: me, playing: 2 spellbound scissors 1 claw clan scout 1 seraph 2 scarab warcharms 3 virtous maidens 1 arch of triumph 1 naga broodqueen 1 knight of strife and joy 1 probability walker 1 lunar handmaiden 1 hawk eyed instigator 1 valkyrie moonrider. Went 3-1 in the swiss rounds, and lost to the same band that beat me in the swiss and knockout, the second place, played by rob lee. From memory 1 zungar blademaster 1 pearlthorn castle 1 cyclopean sprite some warcharm 1 inspired sam lunar handaiden. He beat me too fast for me to see the rest , but i would have nade second if there was a spawn when i had three maidens ready to go with 2 warcharms and a scout..., curse that 1...
The winner was definitely not playing passion of reapers/ aviax, but a sort of weird homebrew band with a slughterwheel.. | | Champion of Wildshaped druid in with natural spell!

| | I didn't end up playing. Between two consecutive weeks of tournaments (A 10K then a local 1K), just generally being burnt out on Dreamblade, and the fact I wanted to make the most of my London trip resulted in me choosing not to attend. Oh well. | | I am not gone. | |
