07/27/2007 11:45 PM Alert

The first "Omens" preview for the Night Fusion set has been posted:

http://ww2.wizards.com/Dreamblade/Articles.aspx?Doc=20070727a

It has some info on new "shield" abilities that are triggered when the damage on the dice is greater than the number of dice rolled.

I love how they have made a "replacement" warcharm.  This one is a little less powerful than a warcharm, but has helped people get the warcharm style of play without having one.  The battleweaver is another example of this....

A wand of silence means never having to say you're sorry.

The warcharm is a powerfull piece for two reasons.
1) It's seriously undercosted for what it does.
2) In combo with other minis that have blade-skirmish (e.g. Kt.of.Strife & Joy) you can skirmish the entire stack & hence get multiple attacks with the stack in a single phase.
Unless Madness gets a mini which can skirmish valor creatures, neither of those advantages is true of the animated standard.

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

The concept of a stained glass angel is interesting. It looks really good, too. That was a nice bit of creativity.

Note: I don't know the game, so my comments have nothing to do with the stats.

DB has always had very nice sculpts. Esp. the Angel is great.

I rather like the Totem Lord. There appears to be some very nice sculpts in this set, hopefully it draws in some more interest.
