Thanks again for the minigame. It has provided me hours of enjoyment and I hope it will continue to do so for a very long time!

| | 08/21/2007 11:46 AM | Alert | | No, the pics haven't been released yet. Please understand that I wasn't complaining about not having the game updated yet or anything like that (the set doesn't even OFFICIALLY release until 9/7). I was simply showing my support for the game and for Maxminis by offering to help once you get into the updating process. | | | |

| | 08/21/2007 2:07 PM | Alert | Hi Scud-O,
Thanks for the show of support. A good thing to understand from my perspective would be why people are playing on vassal instead of here. Is it because the game crashes? the dice don't seem fair? Maybe a few people could weigh in here.

Can I second Scud-O's opinion here. Please still update this sight to include the new figs.
I have played on Vassal and here and I have to say that the answer to your question is a little bit complicated. I personally GREATLY prefer the maxminis interface. I think it is more accessable and user friendly.
The reason why more people play on Vassal is due to a couple of pre-concieved notions...
1. The attitude is that the top players feel that the quality of players there is better. If you play on Maxminis, you are essentially playing noobs.
2. The dice are unfair, specifically regarding the number of 1's rolled on the initiative dice. Again, it does seem a bit of a problem sometimes, but not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be.
3. The Vassal version has some features that maxminis does not. You are allowed to "lock" rooms so that no observers can watch as well as a draft simulator that people were practicing with for the 50K
4. People played Vassal DDM before dreamBlade, so the transition was obvious and seemess for them.
So, for those reasons, (and others I am sure) many competative players have flocked over there and are comforatble with the interface and it has become part of their online culture.
Personally, I love this interface and I have met some amazing people here and it has made me rather partial to this site. I like that I don't have to download any kid of program or constant updates to play. I would really hate to see it taken down at all. I am not a huge techno-nut, but I will also offer my help in keeping it going if it is needed.
Hope that clarifies the situation, at least as I see it. | | A wand of silence means never having to say you're sorry. CHAMPION OF THE ANNIS HAG!!!

| | 08/22/2007 1:02 PM | Alert | Everything Thespian says is spot on. I think that his #4 (people were already playing DDM there) is the original root of the whole thing. Most of the top players came from DDM (or Magic) and therefore stuck with what they knew. I have been trying hard to alter that perception.
The die roller here CAN be a bit skewed at times, but I agree that I don't think it is *nearly* as bad as some people claim.

| | 08/28/2007 6:27 PM | Alert | you can generate draft or sealed on the mini-game, just pick the number of boosters, etc, the on the game menu click draft, or something like that
im all for keeping the minigame up and running, it is enjoyable and despite the sometimes questionable rolls its fun

| | 08/31/2007 11:28 AM | Alert | | Thank you Host for the minigame. I play both here and on Vassal. Although I prefer the interface here, some people just insist on playing on Vassal so I have to go there to play them. Its good to play a variety of opponents as well. I haven't been playing Dreamblade nearly as much after Gencon. But I will start up again when Nightfusion is released and the minigame is updated to include it. | | | |

I know you are always looking for ways to improve the mini-game. here are a couple of suggestions, that I don't think would be too tough...
1. Able to choose more than one mini at a time. Kind of like a click-and-drag so that you can move groups from cell to cell.
2. A window like the complete minis list, but that would only have the minis you have selected. This way it would be quick to reference the blade abilities and would help some of the newer folk access the gameplay without having to have dreamcatcher (or something similar) open.
