Yeah, you need to buy a "brick" of minis at a FLGS. Then you are able to send in a coupon from that to Wizkids for the Collectors atvantage. I never bothered myself, their Great Cthulhu figure is virtualy unplayable and I'm not a Aliens fan. | | Pathetic Earthlings. Um... question:
When has WizKids NOT had QA Problems? Every known set of Mechwarrior had tons of QA issues. I know I lived through them until I dropped all WK games from my mind... and habit.

The last WK game I played/collected was MK 1.0, I pretty much dropped out of the scene then. Mechwarrior's QA issues were unknown to me. That doesn't sound too promising for the Lab though..... | | Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. I didn't like heroclix system ( I didn't try it very much, though), but actual minis would be great I'm sure somewhere is suitable rules to play them with! It's got lots of issues unfortunatly..... the move or attack/shoot mechanic is a little frustrating to play with. Ranged attacks are overcosted and difficult to pull off, while melee attack powers are undercosted. | | Pathetic Earthlings. I'm pretty sure there are a couple companies out there who do Aliens and Predators with the Serial numbers filed off. Eureka based out of Australia does them I think. | | Pathetic Earthlings. | | Well there's the Human Merc for SWM, or even the Marines from Starship troopers. I found a defunct company, Leading edge minatures that did the Marines and the Aliens. Copplestone Castings has some very nice looking Predator Aliens listed as Hunter Aliens, as well as some fellas that could work as Marines. | | Pathetic Earthlings. | | Leading Edge was the only company doing Aliens miniatures (colonial marines and aliens) that I could find. They are alright, but expensive to come by. I'm hoping wizkids will do the marines as well and not just avp the movie literally. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. missing a couple), a bunch of eggs, facehuggers and chestbursters, a

| For some reason it seems so hard to me to find any good info about these... They are supposed to come out in january? I've seen nothing about these from online stores. Has anyone find more info about this?
As always, my mind started to create grand plans - does anyone else think that these minis would need some simplified rules resembling old UFO: Enemy Unknown or Laser Squad? I loved UFO especially, and started already to create character templates with actions points, reactions and such...
There's a group around here that have created 'UHKA' (=Threat) named game, and they play it with custom cards & miniatures, and it's idea is that a group of marines invade a complex full of aliens, terrain is built randomly. I watched them play once and it seemed fun... Although I missed 'authentic' aliens!
Yeah, need to find some troopers! Preferably pre-painted. Any suggestions other than human mercs? Want a bit different too, and they seem to have gained some price (should have bought earlier) | | Vindicated AtG Called shot: 2nd Huge Red Dragon My collected trade reference links Star Wars tactical combat -project My modelling/terrain pages Suomen miniatyyrikeräilijät / Miniature collectors of Finland | |

| | ok. im a big aliens fan as well. before d&d mins i used the galoob action fleet aliens. they were slighlty bigger than 25 mm and worked perfectly. i also got my hands on the action fleet apc. has opening compartment and is very detailed. came with a samll alien warior and a marine. queen was on small side but the warriors and dog warriors wer perfect. there was also predator action fleet that came with invisible predator or the unmasked predator. the soldiers that came witht thes packs are on the samll side now that ddm has raised the scale. for soldiers i might try the at-43 game. they have soliders that could fit the role, prepainted, plastic and same scale. im waiting for the blister packs too come out. Ive seen a pic of the predator set and there appear to be some cool predators coming out. alien quen looks great and even ahs a detachable egg sack with eggs all round her. | | The ROCK layeth the smacketh down. | | check out the xpanions planned later this year. i agree the base set is expensive and its the only product at the moment but the expansions could be great for rpg use including a avp game. the planned expansions look like the contain 8 figures and are probably priced lik a mins booster. the soldier expanions remind me a little of the soliders from gears of war. | | The ROCK layeth the smacketh down. The con-exclusive Vlad is pretty darn annoying to me. Some of the other uniques look rather nice and actually usefull.
