Certainly is news to me. And although interesting, probably not something I'd get in to... 3d card game??

Never got into the TV show, can't imagine really getting into the game.

Then again, if it's fun enough, I suppose I could give it a try.

The GI-Joe card game didn't fare to well.  They must be banking on interest arising from the movie on this one.

Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror.

It's been announced for a while. Constructible, even. IIRC, two froms, both humanoid and bot versions are buildable.

I enjoyed the show immensely in the 80's, but no more new games for me thanks. DDM and D&D RPG take up enough of my resources - time and money wise.

Indeed, I am. What's confusing here? It's a constructible game (Like Pirates) and you can build the transformers in either Robot or Humanoid form, with different stats depending on the form.

I think what is confusing is that you actually mean Robot or Vehicle form.  Humanoid form is the same as Robot form.

Saw a display of these cards yesterday at my FLGS.  It looks pretty chintzy.

Well, luckily it doesn't look like this will take anywhere near as much resources as either of those two.  $4 gets you a pack with 2 figs, one decepticon and one autobot with a total of 26 different Transformers in all.  The game is not complex and any game shouldn't take too long.  You can definitely play this with even just one pack so even just picking a pack up to try shouldn't take food out of anyone's mouths.Â

And when I say, not complex, it's a variation of Rock/Paper/Scissors with a neat complication of whether you are in Robot or Vehicle mode.  Now if you want more strategy than this, it is not your game.  But for just a little more than a pack of Magic you got a complete game that can be added to with more packs.

I got two demo packs from WotC. The models are kinda cool but a bugger to put together if you just ate a greasy cheeseburger . . .

The pieces are plastic coated and are pretty durable.
