I'm interested to see the rules too.  I'm alittle apprehensive about the game, as I'm not sure how well it will be able to capture the feel of space combat.  That will likely dictate if I get into it heavily or not, though I am already signed on for at least a starter, and likely a few boosters (cap ships and a few others are just too cool for display, should the game not be my cup of tea).

* November 2006 Release
* Starter set will have 2 Gargantuan ships (SSD and Mon Cal ship) plus other random ships.
* This is a Huge set, but also included Large and Medium units.
* 2" grid
* Round bases for Light Side, Octagonal for Dark Side
* No further ships sets are planned, though they are not completely out of the question if the game does well. The current spread of ships covers the major ones from the movies and EU (except KotoR and Yuuzhan Vong).
* Double sided stat cards for ships. One side has full-strength stats, the opposite side has reduced strength stats for use after a certain amount of damage is received.

So, does anyone have any idea about the structure of this game yet?  Is it played on a grid?  Do the ships have Hull points and sheilds like the RPG?

Has the combat been reworked for this game and updated for the 3.5 version of SWRPG core rulebook?  I'll get it, like I do every other SW core book, but I'm getting sick of buying the same book over and over.  My group is thinking of trying to go back to D6 Star Wars from West End games.  I have a pile of their books.

Anyway, back on topic.......I hope they make z-95's, I'm going to need a few methinks....

That video answers some questions about the game. They appear to be using it to test the revised ship combat rules for the next SW rpg core book (to be published march 07) But I don't think they gave clear details of changes between that & the current rpg rules. They mention the map being a 2-inch grid, but they didn't specify hexes or squares. The Super Star Destroyer looks about 6-8 inches long.
