I played a couple of demo games on sunday. the organiser had ships from a starter & 4 boosters. Most of which looked very good.
Some of the minis (e.g. X-wings) would need hairdryer treatment to streighten them out.

But a couple of ships did look fairly awefull.
1) Virago; while it's shape reminds me of a star fury. It's way too big. With the result that it doesn't seem to belong in the same game with the rest of the minis.

2) Tie-Bombers. The demo had 3 of them. One was perfect. but the other 2 had the "wings" narrower at the rear in a "V" shape. This looked either molded wrong or glued on badly. Either way it didn't look fixable with a hairdryer. I hope there arn't too many like this...

Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

How soon are we going to have gallery pictures available? I'm curious to see what the set looks like. When is this released?

Corim, you might want to check these threads:

I still haven't seen many figs live, but the scale is a little bit disturbing, especially with some class 3 ships.

My tie bomber seems to be fine, but I'll have to note that when thinking of what to get.

Thanks, Sean-Khan. It looks like there are scaling problems from each size category to the next. How consistent are they within size categories, though? Like, are the starfighters fairly consistent compared to each other? I don't think they could have done a consistent proportional scale, when starfighers would be like fleas compared to the executor, for example.

As far as worst looking ships are concerned--I would be concerned seeing warped x-wings on the promotional poster. See Tie Fighter Ace and Rogue Squadron X-wing for quick examples of the warping problem.

Hot water is always there, although it seems that turning wings straight is a bit more difficult than swords.

Scales could have been done better, making class 1's a bit larger - well, they actually are pretty much 4x2 squares right now, placing 2 gargantuan ships nose-to-nose would be really problematic even now, so it would really be a problem. Still, I would have liked that even with larger base. And fighters should have been 2/3 of the size they are now, but as they are this big now, I decided to take them to my ground combat rules (or they actually were the inspiration ). But still, class 3 ships... Sigh.
