| OK, we need to get the map done so we can move on to other things. Below are all the most current images for the map. Lets get some suggestions out and get this finished up so we can move on to some more import/fun things...

| They all look sweet. Wish i could make up some maps that looked as sharp.
Comments - Only one and it's not a deal breaker for me, just what I'd do if it were me alone.
I'd prefer the middle desert be smaller maybe half its size.

Too many deserts. Please make it a plains area.
Beyond that it looks great.

| Still like the map,but too many islands.
Get rid of most of the islands around the upper left on the main continent. Lose all but one big island or a couple of small ones along the right coast. Thin out the chain of islands leading from the main continent to the large island/continent.
I also agree with the others about reducing or removing the desert in the middle.
Great job on the map, I wish I had the skills and programs to do something as good.

First comment ive made on any of this, but I agree with this. Make it more of a Savannah like plains or a plateau, lots of desert otherwise. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

Whatever ... just big dangerous things (and a desert isn't dangerous enough - you can go pretty fast crossing it and can see things miles away).
Mmmm maybe more of an highlands jungle? very mountainous and jungle... much more say african with high mountain ranges?

| I like the highland plains idea. Make a nice natural hazzard that gets in the way of overland travel. Maeks the inner sea even more valuable.

There's a couple problems with this idea.
Not realistic Totally isolates any desert area. Isolating one desert area might be cool but all of them? I don't like the idea. [:)] | | Ghendar - Now snark free!

| I think this hits all the bases. Reduced number of islands, lost the middle desert, added volcanic island, refined the climatic regions a litte. Remember, this is still pretty broad strokes. When we zoom in there will be a lot more climactic diversity. I have used the names rainforest and jungle interchangably.

I dont think there is much more to really change on the map. Can we see what everyone thinks, see if there are any other changes to make and then move on to the next step. | | Ha:19 of 80! | Looks good, I miss the trio of islands hugging the coast on the left side of the inner sea but thats just nit picking.
The only change I would make is, maybe, narrowing off the inner sea from the outer one with the line of islands running across the entire opening but on the zoom in there could be reefs or other underwater obstacles making navigating the opening more difficult and I don't want to slow up the world building any more. So no more changes is good but if you do keep my suggestion in mind. [:)]

| (Caveat: this is the first I've even looked at the thread, so take my opinion for what it's worth.)
I really like the shape of the super-continent, and its Pangea-like nature.
But you're overdoing the archipelagos. You'd be better off making at least half the archipelagos separated subcontinents, instead. An archipelago tends to shape cultures in dramatic and distinct ways, making them very interesting locales for roleplaying ... but if there're nine different major archipelagos in the world ... ehn.
(I think the real world has maybe three major archipelagos (and several minor).) | | Jeff "Wayne Laredo" Wilder | Email | Have/Want List | Trade Policies | Are You an Ethical Trader?

| I vote that it is Done and leave it at that. The map is not really that important and this is a very nice looking map.
The abundance of large island give lots of options and should be left.
if there is any futher changes my only suggestion is that all the islands shown are very large. the volcanic island in the inland ocean(to big to call a sea) for example is three times as large as the British isles. This island I would like to see smaller.

I agree that the volcanic island is too large. It's so big that it's an island with a volcano on it somewhere. Unless it's covered in volcanoes.
