| This is a discussion thread for "Great Games" of the NEW WORLD. Thus far, this is what I think.
The games will occur every 10 years. Each race will field a team of 5. There will be 5 games and 1 final combat. Magic and Psionics are allowed? or not?
Games will include: Missle weapon skills A battle with random beasts An obstacle course made for medium creatures?
Others?
Any input is welcome and appreciated.

| | Is this just a hypothetical thing, or are you wanting an ingame contest of all the races? If so I don't know if that would work, just at the fact that my civilization alone pretty much has no idea about the rest of the world, let alone some contest (though they would be for till they dropped). If it's just hypotehtical, this is bound to turn into "Well, my civilization has this, and theres no WAY you can beat that," "Uh-Huh, my guys are WAY stronger than that!" It would remind me of arguing with action figures all over again, although, now that I think about it, that was always fun. I don't know if orcoubleax's goblinoids communicate much with the rest of the world, or any of the others really. What we need now are some major cities in the world, some big empires (probably human) that would communicate with each other in wide, open terms. We have lots of exceptions to the rule type of kingdoms, but not too many mainstream, large Corymr-esque (sorry, FR is my known world) civilizations. | | Champion of the Aspect of Tempus | |

I noticed that also. There are five types of pirates, but no nations too create the ship traffic for them to raid. [:D] | | Yes I am Gelatinous.

| I am also worried about how to balance the games too.
Maybe this should be a regular combat colliseum. I think that the mechanics for a specific type of games creation would not be balanceable. Does that make sense?
I think that I'll make it a standard combat colliseum and throw elements of a Vegas casino (ie: various games of chance), to make it a little bit different.
Thoughts? | | | |

| I'd rather just keep it Medieval...
The Coliseum is a good idea for Fighting and Sports, along with betting. Regarding the games of chance, I'm not a huge fan. They most certainly could occur just outside of the Coliseum; In a courtyard or along the promende.
A Coliseum will probably have to be in some sort of urban area. If it is in a rural area or an area that is too remote, it probably won't have that familiar "hustle 'n bustle" feel. Of course, were it used for world-wide competition, we may have a different story (but without teleportation or airships, this can become a very looong journey).

| | The Colliseum Games will also include a team based free-for-all where all competitors must be equal CR and no more that 1 druid (by far most powerful class) and 1 mage/cleric/psionist (runner-up most powerful) to a group. Games will be fleshed out within the week. | | | |
