| | I think it's really lame to have a forum section dedicated to rumors about 4th edition. There are many people who have expressed that they don't want a 4th edition to be made (either soon or at all). The existence of this forum is as a thorn in the side.

| Please do NOT get rid of this Forum.
We already know that WotC comes and reads what we have to say. Having a forum to discusses the good/bad points of what has been speculated about is not a bad thing.
If 100% of the membership of these forums is against a new edition for reason X, then perhaps WotC will take that into consideration as they start/continue/contemplate 4e development.
I enjoy reading the rumors, and speculating on what various tidbits may mean...

Getting rid of the forum may ultimately make sense, but, for now, it's not really doing any harm. If some good comes of it, it will have been worth leaving up.

| Knowing absolutely nothing about what changes are being considered for 4th edition, I'm neither looking forward to or upset about it.
But it's coming, and there should be a place to talk about it for those who want to. Deleting the forum isn't going to stop them from making it. | |

| Well since we know nothing at this point, it's time for wacky pointless unfounded rumors.
4th ED will use the AC system from 1st ED.
Gygax will design 4th ED
All classes from the "complete" books will become core.
Haste will be unnerfed.
Greyhawk will get FR level support.
FR and Eberron will both plane shift into each other creating a very interesting game world indeed.
Ghendar will be in charge of coordinating 4th Ed conversion of all 1st ED and Basic/Expert D&D modules. (okay this one is clearly false.  ) | |

Those with the money get to be the high level characters, kind of like if you pay more you can cut in line at the amusement park. | |

| Back to this serious post, it's going to come out. It's inevitable, else D&D is dead. The real question is when and in what form. I think they should wait a few more years, but by then 3rd ed will ha been out about as long as 2nd ed.
Until then, all we can do is wait for real news and have fun with the rumors. | |

I find the whole 1st ed nostaligia trip pretty interesting. Having cut my teeth on 1st and having played 3.5 extensively, I find I prefer 3.5.  Creating fun, involving characters is not limited by edition. The DM and players define the experience, not the rules-they're an adjunct.
My two cents...
That being said, they should take their time with 4th Ed and work to address the flaws in the current system (so we can find all new flaws in whatever they come up with). | |
