Hmmm... after checking out the Realms thread...

I've heard Elminister will be trading in his levels of Wizard for levels in Bard in the new edition.

Gheeze, levels in Bard.... is there any class this guy does not have.Â
I'm now imagining him doing some bardic inspiration worthy of Elan.... "Bluff, bluff the saucy wenches...."

Not "just" going to. They have far more sinister plans in addition to lacing the pages with contact poison (that trap would barely rate a 2 on Grimtooth's lethality meter).

I heard that 4e is bringing back 1e initiative rules
To quote Daffy Duck, "Shoot me now."

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner and RPG designer from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute and RPGA certified DM named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark and THAC0. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons, D&D every night. In the spring we'd make meat helmets for LARP. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag, forced to walk the walk of a thousand four siders, and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe, which was very handy for D&D. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles for LARP. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

I heard that in 4.0 the default mount will be the Large Dire Chicken and all player characters automatically have spiky hair and androgynous faces. I also heard that gold will be referred to as gil. Sources say that the boring Wizard/Sorcerer dichotomy will be replaced by the much sexier White Mage/Black Mage/Blue Mage/Red Mage/Chemist/Summoner classes. In other news, gunswords will be replacing the greatsword as the two-handed weapon of choice. One final note, the Staff of Power is being replaced by the Economizer and Gem Box.

Rogues will be losing Sneak Attack. Instead, they'll have the "Capture" ability which allows them to steal gold when attacking. Monks will be recast as the more generic "Martial Artist" thus ensuring that no one in their right mind ever plays them again.

In an effort to streamline battles, DMs will no longer have to prep battles ahead of time. Instead, the party will just wander around until they trigger a random battle at which point the DM rolls on a table in the MM to determine the monster type. Watch out for Skull Hunters

The rulebook clearly states that when the PCs win a battle, the DM must provide a catchy "battle-won" theme song. A sidebar recommends using ringtones.
