Yes, that's my greatest concern for DDM 2.0 : scale and looks. But since I'll have around 3000 minis after DoD, there's no way I'll renew my collection if scale changes. It then would be singles of the minis I'd be missing, or the few that would look great. End of collecting days... I hope not, but...
Obviously my example was a gross exaggeration, but we've already seen evidence of this with the cosmetic changes to the troll and the size change of the Bar-Lgura. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since the announcement of 4th edition and being fair in my praise and criticism while understanding that they have to make a profit. Making changes to monsters appearance and size is very risky from a business standpoint. There is a very limited number of people who will spend the amount of money that we do on little plastic army men. We are not easily replaced by teenagers. Most long time DDM collectors/RPGers already have a sufficient number of mini's to suit our needs - pissing us off by making the mini's we currently own obsolete is not a good idea. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre

| Wow. The more I hear about 4th Edition, the less and less I like.
There is just no way that they can make all these wholesale changes and playtest everything. 4.0 is gonna be buggy as all get-out.
This just strengthens my resolve to wait for 4.5, or even 5th. I'm not paying hundreds of dollars for the privilege of being a Beta tester.

QFT. I really like the "We are not easily replaced by teenagers line.
Even if a bunch of teenagers wanted to replace us and buy in the quantities that some of us multiple case buyers do, the reality is most of them won't have the money available to do that.

| Just to be clear - I didn't mean to offend any teenagers. I only meant to say that most of the people that currently buy multiple cases of mini's are adults with disposable income. If those adults stop buying cases of mini's it will be difficult to replace us with teenagers as most teenagers can't afford to spend the amount of money that adults can.
Replacing older D&D players with teenagers is a sound business decision (even if it might suck for us older players) - the buy in is much less. Trying to replace older mini's players/collectors with teenagers is very risky. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre

| | I think it might be good to expect a grippli :) | | Just a simple traveler from the swamps of Dagobah otherwise known as Florida. Also known as Hurricane Alley! I always try to send through delivery confirmation, and I expect the same. It's only 55 cents extra, so it's just a little more than a pay phone call, so just do it for the Kai. I prefer to trade with people in the US and Canada, sorry everyone else. http://www.maxminis.com/Forums/tabid/104/forumid/53/postid/655406/view/topic/Default.aspx - references | |

| After all we have the bullywug, so bring on the grippli. They would come handy for an old TSR module I have. | | Vindicated Champion of the PSEUDODRAGON (Unhappy) vindicated champion of the DRYAD Against the giants called shot : huge cloud giant female Demonweb called shot : ghost | |

| | Any good things? How bout the fact that 3e books and all these older minis will finally be really cheap? A friend of mine got the core 3.5 books, PHB, MM, and DMG, for 20 bucks total off of eBay. | | Just a simple traveler from the swamps of Dagobah otherwise known as Florida. | | You'll certainly be able tons of 3E books for ultra-cheap. The DD minis are entirely another matter, since there is a very good chance that they will still be compatible with 4E, at least for RPG. | | Vindicated Champion of the PSEUDODRAGON (Unhappy) vindicated champion of the DRYAD Against the giants called shot : huge cloud giant female Demonweb called shot : ghost | |

| Hmmm, I'm certain that he won't be able to resist the urge of buying 3 new core books every year (PHB2, DMG2, MM2 in 2009...)
