What does everyone/anyone make of the "STR +7(19), CON +5 (14)..." stuff??? and I'm guessing bloodied is a new "condition", how about "immortal humanoid (devil)"? And skills are likely still around with "perception +5"...

lots of guessables... no confirmations!

looks like theve pumped up abilites so a 18 is now +7?maybe. all othe creatures modifiers are +5 so its base save was 13? init modifier is also base dex which seems to be even #'s still

Hard to tell.  However, we can hazard some guesses.

Ability....Ability
Score.....Modifier
2-3.........-1
4-5.........+0
6-7.........+1
8-9.........+2
10-11.....+3
12-13.....+4
14-15.....+5
16-17.....+6
18-19.....+7

Or, as has been suggested, the numbers could be one-half the level plus the already-existing modifiers.  Either works.  If we had another card, from a creature with different scores and a significantly different level, we could tell for sure.

Bloodied looks like half the hit point total, which may replace the moral save for DDM.  Once a creature is Bloodied, it may suffer some consequences (lower speed, lower attacks, lower defenses, etc.).  Calling it a "condition" makes sense.

Immortal Humanoid (Devil) is fitting.  This tells us we have a Mortal/Immortal distinction.  Perhaps some spells don't affect immortals, or they have certain resistances, or automatically have higher defenses...

The Perception skill is in Star Wars Saga, and, as I recall, is a blend of Spot, Listen and Search.  (Off the top of my head, I don't recall for sure, but that seems roughly right.)

I think that the bonus might be 1/2 level + 3.5 edition stat bonus, so with an 11 the devil would have a +3, and with a 19 the devil would have a +7, etc. as per the card. This would not be the stat bonus, strictly, but rather its ability to perform on various checks.

Skills are supoosed to be simplified in D&D-4th. e.g. "Perception" instead of {Spot, Search & Listen as seperate skills}

Not enough clues about "Bloodied" except it occurs at 1/2 HP, so I guess it's some sort of morale condition. 


Don't worry about the current metagame. It doesn't matter if it's ugly, bad, or the best ever. In 2 years time, set rotation will ban everything.

Bloodied means he's a member of fight club so don't talk about it.

Anyhoo, I have no idea what to make of those stats. I really hope that a 19 is not a +7 modifier (ugh!) but I'll reserve final judgment until I get the PH.

He also has Spot +10 under the Skills listing.
So I guess skills are still around, and I have no idea what Perception +5 is, if he still has a Spot of +10. Maybe Perception adds to all of the Spot, Listen skills. Who knows... I like what I see so far. The Bloodied condition seems to make some sense.

It might be stat modifiers for the template, like an elf is +2 Dex and -2 Con?

There used to be odd modifiers for other races in 2e DnD.. Hmm... interesting. Perception sounds like a racial modifier to me as well
