Not all of them are there (the 3 core books are a noticable exception) but the vast majority of them are. They are legal PDF's, not scanned copies. They aren't free though (and I would say that they are actually overpriced). I imagine once 4E comes out WotC will drop the price on them a fair bit.

| I don't know of any WotC books being available in PDF format for free. I imagine that the free ones would be available on some P2P server somewhere. However, they would also be pirated and very much illegal. I don't imagine it would be something that the maxminis site would want to encourage if they wanted WotC people to post here in the future. it is not illegal here in canada Might want to check your source for that. The CRIA is just as interested in finding ways to shut down illegal (i.e. copyright-infringing) downloads as the RIAA.

the legality of this could be argued, as is evident by the CRIA now trying to back out of levies it had lobbied for. There reason, levies on blank media and digital storage devices (ipods) might give a downloader the "right" to download "free" content since they have already paid the CRIA a scaled ammount based on ammount of storage space on siad blank media.
proposed levies for 08-09 are: $0.27/CD-R; $5 for a memory stick (SD) upto 4Gig and 75 bones for "digital audio recorders"
Not a lawyer, but the laws can be changed, and are written to be interprited (thus more lawyers).
Just depends where the money is...
Is it immoral the download copywritten material? Probably, but you won't go to hell for it.
