Hello!

I will be attending the D&D Experience tomorrow and throughout the weekend. I just set up a weblog and plan to post news and photos from the event as they occur with my trusty iPhone.

You can see the site at:

http://ddxp.tumblr.com/

You can also subscribe to the blog's RSS feed using a tool like Google Reader or Bloglines to get up-to-the-minute news and pictures from the event.

Hopefully this will be a way for some of you to experience the event who can't otherwise be there.

I'll be staring the postings around 9am and throughout the day including the 10am to noon R&D developer talk which should answer a lot of questions we've had for some time.

Thanks!

In the constellation of Cygnus, or Central Connecticut

Cool stuff, thanks!

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner and RPG designer from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute and RPGA certified DM named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark and THAC0. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons, D&D every night. In the spring we'd make meat helmets for LARP. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag, forced to walk the walk of a thousand four siders, and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe, which was very handy for D&D. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles for LARP. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Well that's it.

They changed the attribute order from Strength, Dexterity, Constitution to Strength, Constitution, Dexterity. I'll never be able to adjust.

I guess I'm done with D&D.

Seriously thanks for the peek at the character sheets. For the most part I like what I see.

The wizard and warlock having an at will attack spell works for me. It makes more sense than having the low level wizard cast one magic missile and then switch to a crossbow which he sucks with. Although it will mean the end of my usual wizard design (Low Wisdom, Low Charisma, High Intelligence, High Strength and Reasonable Dex and Con) where I cast my one or two spells then charge in and bash things with my big stick until I get knocked out.

The skills interested me as well. I noticed they seemed to have largely removed knowledge skills. This makes a lot of sense to me. I figure a game master can tell players the stuff they are likely to know based on class, race and background and anything else they should have to find out through research (in game research not reading the monster manual)

I didn't see craft skills though. That seems like a mistake. A lot of players really love building stuff.
