| Hey what can I say? I love Kender:
Racial Traits:
Ability Scores: +2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma Size: Small Speed: 6 squares Vision: Normal Languages: Common, choice of one other Skill Bonuses: +2 Bluff, +2 Thievery Fearless: You are completely immune to fear. Lucky: You gain a +1 racial bonus to all saves Kender Taunt: You can use Kender Taunt as an encounter power.
Kender Taunt - Kender Racial Power Every Kender possess the skill known as, the
taunt. They use this to enrage their enemies so they stop thinking logically. Encounter Language Dependent Minor Action Target: One creature Attack: Bluff vs. Will or Charisma vs. Will Effect: Kender can drive an opponent into a rage by taunting him incessantly. Once
driven into a rage, the opponent attacks the kender by any means
possible, ignoring all other threats. Furthermore, the enraged enemy
suffers a -2 penalty to all attack rolls, but the anger fuels him on to
deliver a +3 bonus to all damage rolls. Sustain Minor: Sustain the Taunt
Now that's how the taunt should work. mwahahaha!!!! | | Just a simple traveler from the swamps of Dagobah otherwise known as Florida. Also known as Hurricane Alley! I always try to send through delivery confirmation, and I expect the same. It's only 55 cents extra, so it's just a little more than a pay phone call, so just do it for the Kai. | | I didn't mean to bash your kender post, I just found that while I was playing a Halfling Thief in 4e, the whole time I was thinking "I feel like a Kender". | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. I'm with Grey on this one.

| | I actually like the concept you came up with--very similar to halflings, but not too much more powerful. Kender are fun to play, though they can be irksome. | | | |

| | In analyzing the taunt, it doesn't seem overpowered, barring some ridiculous OAs. A super badguy should have a strong will. I find the -2/+3 to be flavour that might not be necessary (afterall, do you want u'r teeny Kender taking extra damage?) Is the Taunt save ends? | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. I find the -2/+3 to be flavour that might not be necessary (afterall, do you want u'r teeny Kender taking extra damage?) Is the Taunt save ends? I think it might be save ends after like 2 or 3 rounds. Things to know about the history of the taunt. It makes things fly into a rage and want to toast the kender in the novels. And the minus 2 to hit the kender while raging, and that extra few damage... It ties in pretty well with the MUST KILL KENDER NOW for insulting my man jewels! lol
I mean, here's a good taunt that worked to my own demise a few times:
Telling a red dragon that he was a do gooder red troll pus sucking scaled lizard who's momma was a gelatinous cube usually does it every time. :P
No, it's not overpowered, and the taunt only works as long as the kender can keep taunting. Knocking him out usually works, so would a good daze. heh

| Kender Taunt as written is possibly broken or at least warped as heck. It's basically a more flexible and better version of the defender's marking ability. Plus it does not play nicely with other rules and could open up some confusion. What happens if:
Target possibly reach the Kender? Can not see the Kender?
To tone it down a bit yet still keep it in flavor:
Encounter Language Dependent Minor Action Target: One creature Attack: Bluff vs. Will or Charisma vs. Will
Effect: Hit: Target must spend its next turn moving adjacent or as near as possible as it can to the Kender. Target is considered marked until end of its turn and has +3 damage against the Kender as long as marked.
Sustain Minor: Target is marked until the end of its next turn.
That way it still makes them focus on the Kender. Keeps the +3 flavor bonus, and opens up cool interactions with the rest of the party through opportunity attacks and making them lose position with out opening up possible loop holes to exploit. | | Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested! | Hmm... that's a great point, bshugg. by making it a 'mark' style ability, it superceeds all other marks, preventing ridiculous stacking effects. It should probably just be a Cha vs. Will attack... Bluff would be awfully Powerful in the respect that it'd be a MUCH bigger bonus to hint. And you could add in an improved racial feat, like the Halfling's Second Chance buffer feat.
Imrpoved Taunt When using the kender racial encouter power 'Taunt', the target cannot ready actions as long as the Taunt is maintained.
Or something similar :-)

| | It's been a while since I've read the novels, but didn't the kender lose there fear immunity? | Regular kender are still fearless, afflicted kender are not. Basically now there's two kinds. I'm wondering of the ones who are not fearless will go away after awhile.
I know Cam Banks has written a few things on the dragonlance forums about kender, with a writeup by him and there's one by ferratus. | | Champion of a Knight of Takhisis/Knight of Neraka
