| | I'm just curious how many people out there like to get a mini from one of the many supplies, and do up your own for games? I myself find just as much joy out of painting up minis for the game, that with my groups all the new people get one done of their character. Though I'd be intrested in knowing if you prefer the WOTC minis too. | | If I kill off a 5th level party with only 3 kobolds that were based off Spartans, have I failed or succeeded at my job as a DM? | |

| I paint WotC minis. How's that for best of both worlds?
I'm finding that painting minions takes a wee bit too much effort. Don't think I'll repaint minions anymore. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Champion of Dwarven Thunderlashers Knight of the Large Dire Chicken Have/Want List Trade References

| I like the idea of doing one for each character that plays. I like to give a mini of character to players when the campign ends up.
Lack of skill and general time poorness has stopped me from buying unpainted. | | "Mutton yesterday, mutton today, and blimey, if it don't look like mutton again tomorrer." | I end up liking all of Wizards prepainted minis over what I paint almost every time. I'd rather just have all D&DM then mix metal with plastic.

| | As I was looking through the AtG set of minis I noticed that yet again the Dragonborn are rare...given I'd rather find a pewter mini of a dragonborn esqe character, but I can't help but think of the stupidity of making a PC race rare everytime it comes up in the set line. I mean would it have been a problem to just make a Dragonborn Warrior Common for people that play dragonborn? | | If I kill off a 5th level party with only 3 kobolds that were based off Spartans, have I failed or succeeded at my job as a DM? | |

| | I use both but as I have limited time for painting so the balance of my collection is pre-painted. I also really like to paint\enhance the prepainted minis from DDM and even old mage-knight stuff.   | | | |

I can't ever see needing a Common Dragonborn. I can go with Uncommon, but not Common. Personally, I hope they always stay rare (I have no love for the Dragonborn).

I would like to see a common for each player handbook race. While I can understand there's a lot of people who do not need that, I'd still like it to happen :) | | Champion of a Knight of Takhisis/Knight of Neraka

| I enjoy painting minis, but I'm really not very good at it.
I have some friends that are good with painting minis, and I like when they paint stuff for me, and, I like them more than pre-painted ones for my PCs.
For monsters, and for NPCs when I DM, I prefer the pre-painted plastic minis. Cheap, tough, plentiful...what's not to love?

But are Dragonborn supposed to be common? I was under the impression that they were a remnant of a long ago race....

| | The books talk of their empire being gone, but they are plentiful enough not to be considered an uncommon race in the world of D&D. It would be great if they just did one common for all the pc races, preferably (for me anyway) each set from here would have 1 common for each race as a different class. So each set every knows ahead of time 8 of the minis just not the combonation they use.....until the 8th set. | | If I kill off a 5th level party with only 3 kobolds that were based off Spartans, have I failed or succeeded at my job as a DM? | |

| I would have no problems with a common dragonborn mini. Since dragonborn can serve as monsters as well as PCs I would like enough to fill the ranks of an encounter or two (including some minions) so a common mini would be very useful.
Of course, I tend to prefer PC races as rare minis. The secondary market prices tend to be reasonable (for buyers) and normally I don't need a huge variety (I have hundreds of different types of human minis and about a dozen get used regularly). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. | Pre-painted DDM minis for me.
Firstly it's just easier because I'm lazy, and secondly my painting of miniatures is terrible. I have a decent collection of DDM and a complete set (minus promos) of Star Wars minis. | | "No disintegrations? Yeah right!" - Bail Ohmar, Warriors of Gar Sithspawn's Lair - www.ugavine.com
