I liked D&D online at first, but the lack of depth and enviroment really killed it fast, plus the feats and skills were a confusing mess, and only a few were ever used. Now if they would redo it with 4 edition, the possibilites would be freakin amazing, they could really open it up. Its basically like playin a mmo anyway. Just a thought.

I would be suprised if WotC didn't come out with a 4.0 MMO.

A 4.0 MMO in FR would be great.

You mean Eberron, right?

(yes, yes, I know the current DDO is Eberron, but they need to redo it)

When did you try DDO, a lot has changed since the first year.

It is set in Eberron so anyone expecting the warm fuzziness of FR and familiarity with that mythos will be disappointed.

Putting DDO in Eberron frees the creative hands of the developers a lot more than placing into a setting where so much is already gospel.

Built the addition for this addiction, now on to the "gaming table" project....

4e is custom-made to be an MMO- there's little doubt in my mind that the designers had that objective somewhere in the back (or front) of their thinking.

* Short rests available in dungeons, long rests not available.

* At-will, encounter, daily powers dirt-simple to implement with no messy mana/energy/whatever mechanics.

* Lots of meaningful equipment upgrades

* retraining built-in.

A blind man could see it. There'll be one in the next three years. I wouldn't be surprised if it has been in development for a year or more by now.

I think it has been designed from bottom up to be more computer freindly, which would include ease of tranistion to a MMO.

If DDI doesn't do well, that may be where they recoup income from ... :|
