It's a fact of life that no DM ever has enough small towns, nor do they have the inspiration to create them all on their own. This thread shall be dedicated to small towns of our own design that can be picked up and dropped into other campaigns. Names may be changed by DMs that pick them up, but that's just the nature of the game.

I'll start off with Waypost Outpost, a nice little hamlet I've created. It's somewhat bare-bones at present, but that's because I know I want to use it and need it to fit any purpose.

The town of Waypost Outpost lies about half a mile from the banks of a river. It is named for the broken signpost at the crossroads just outside of town. Nobody has fixed it since it fell decades ago, and it is unlikely that any will ever mend it.
Waypost Outpost was once a small farming community, but the broken sign led to a large number of travelers stopping by to ask for directions. Eventually, an entrepreneur by the name of Marcus Ingost (now the Town Speaker) opened up the Waypost Inn to provide boarding for the lost caravans. In time, a few more businesses cropped up, and with them, more homes. The town continues to grow to this day.
