Wizards released an article detailing the barbarian: http://www.wizards.com/files/368_Playtest_Barbarian.pdf I also see the Druid on the cover of the Player Handbook 2 http://www.amazon.com/Players-Handbook-4th-Core-Rulebook/dp/0786950161/ref=reg_hu-wl_mrai-recs due out in March 2009. Also lists Primal as a new power source.

At first blush the Barb seems to be on par or higher than the Ranger for pure damage output. I wonder if I can get anyone to consider making one of these?

From the subtitle: Arcane, divine and Primal that means we are getting a few other classes as well. It's been said we are getting a sorc, but there must be at least one other holy class as well.

4 primal, 2 arcane and 2 divine would give equal amount of options for each power source. A bit googling tells that following should be confirmed: Barbarian (Primal Striker), Druid (Primal something), Shaman (Primal leader), Bard (Arcane Leader), and Sorcerer (probably Arcane Controller). I believe it was also said that starting letters of the other 3 should be W, I and T. If there will be 4 classes from each power source and those above are correct, then two of these should be divine and one primal. Witch and Theurge could be options, but if Sorcerer isn't arcane, I could be Illusionist. Inquisitor, templar, warden are other names that come to mind. PHB2 confirmed races are supposedly Gnome, Half-Orc, Goliath, and Shifter, and there's still 2 others.
