| WOTC_Shoe: First off, I'd like to thank Rav950 for setting all this up. It's very cool WOTC_Shoe: first question?
MerricB: G'day from Australia, Shoe! Are there any plans for more outdoor maps, particular for RPG purposes (e.g. forests, mountains, etc.)? WOTC_Shoe: short answer - yes. FL3 will have some forest terrain, for instance Cosworth: Is war drums themed for Eberron on purpose? WOTC_Shoe: well, the minis were picked on purpose. :) WOTC_Shoe: we actually didn't start with 4 warforged, for instance WOTC_Shoe: sometimes a piece falls out due to art issues, and in this case, our filler expanded the WF lineup WOTC_Shoe: but we like to support both our settings, as well as core
maijstral: with so many warforged in wardrums will we be seeing any in the next few sets? WOTC_Shoe: we may have had our fill of warforged for a short time - it would have to be a unique situation I think for another one to come out in the next couple of sets
Sammael: What makes the girallon an uncommon and the wemic a rare? (i.e is it just the point cost/abilities) or sculpt complexities as well? WOTC_Shoe: primarily sculpt and paint - number of parts of the mini, number of paint steps, wanting more girallons (it makes a great uncommon)
Count: BOTH settings? What of Dragonlance or Greyhawk? WOTC_Shoe: greyhawk==core WOTC_Shoe: The biggest difference of DL is draconians, (and uniques) WOTC_Shoe: I'd like to see other DL minis, particularly uniques, so we'll see where that goes WOTC_Shoe: we should throw Ravenloft into that mix, too WOTC_Shoe: note that DL is currently published by Sovereign Press, so isn't our baby right now (though we can still draw from it)
DariusTAD: DL also has some very iconic martial groups: The Knights of Solamnia and the Knights of Neraka I hope you keep them in mind as well.
ilarue: Thanks for spending time with us, is the twig blight coming, and if so soon? WOTC_Shoe: twig blight. WOTC_Shoe: yes WOTC_Shoe: it will be coming WOTC_Shoe: a few more months, at least
DariusTAD: poor Count Dooku Keep on waiting:)
Okay_McKay: How are the plans for translucent minis going? Any chance of a G-Cube soon? WOTC_Shoe: Peter Lee's production time isn't quite fast enough for the G Cubes... WOTC_Shoe: You'll note that the Big Red's fire is clear plastic WOTC_Shoe: and we'll see clear plastic in War of the Dairy Queen
ACanoftheCaveBeer: Morning, Shoe! How is the set's color pallet determined? Is it just whatever you want, or do you have a certain number of colors per set? WOTC_Shoe: it's in the hands of the art director(s), but our paint masters are provided with suggested color schemes WOTC_Shoe: really on a mini-by-mini basis
TheRunes: A question on the icons: If they sell well, is there any plan to step up the production? One colossal and one Gargantuan a year is painful! WOTC_Shoe: you want more? WOTC_Shoe: we'll see how the first couple do
DariusTAD: I know I'm sold on the dragons WOTC_Shoe: they rock
Count: Is there any hope of minis from Dungeon or Dragon magazines? (Shackled City, Age of Wyrms?) WOTC_Shoe: we're working with Paizo to better coordinate things like that WOTC_Shoe: for instance, a Spawn of Kyuss would've been nice in War Drums, if we had been able to start production on it much earlier
Okay_McKay: Are there any thoughts about doing aquatic minis and maps? WOTC_Shoe: While we may add some water areas to maps, it synergizes best with the rest of the game if aquatic minis are primarily amphibious WOTC_Shoe: we don't plan to add underwater rules, for instance. WOTC_Shoe: :(
DariusTAD: Not even a special scenario map? WOTC_Shoe: DariusTAD: maybe if there were an underwater Icon, like a dragon turtle.we'll continue to consider.. DariusTAD: hope is hope :)
Count: Is a Medium Worg with goblin rider in the works at all? I need to know if I should kill myself trying to collect Snigs or if I should be patient :) WOTC_Shoe: worg rider..for now, Snig's it. We've got more mounted figs in WotDQ than we've done, but not a worgrider yet WOTC_Shoe: note, when we tried art for the worg riders, a Small fig on a Medium fig (like taping Snig to a Worg) didn't look very good. WOTC_Shoe: it looked better with a bigger doggy WOTC_Shoe: I mean, the halfling outrider is cool, and all, but is it really "cool"?
ktatroe: War Drums has a very different "feel" to it than did previous sets, in terms of the range and types of abilities. Is that a portent of sets to come? Do you feel, nine sets in, more comfortable stretching your wings, design-wise? WOTC_Shoe: I think so. We've sort of determined what the boundaries are, and can work more efficiently on filling in the design space. "I've got this guy already" WOTC_Shoe: We're trying to add variety, was the previous point WOTC_Shoe: plus, we've got a new team - war drums was the last set Rob Heinsoo worked on, and is the first set where I had a significant impact (second set of mine, overall) WOTC_Shoe: Rob did design part of Set 10, now that I think about it....
MerricB: At what point does the size of a figure make it impossible to make as uncommon? Could we conceivably see Fire Giants or Frost Giants as uncommons, or are they just too big? WOTC_Shoe: paint is more of an issue for commons WOTC_Shoe: I wouldn't want a fire or frost as a common, since it wouldn't get enough paint to make it look good WOTC_Shoe: large figures typically end up with multiple pieces, which also prohibits common commonality
True_Blue: do you mean common or uncommon? WOTC_Shoe: I mean common. I'd not mind an uncommon fire or frost WOTC_Shoe: the hill giant turned out all right
True_Blue: so its feasable to maybe see them in the future? WOTC_Shoe: I think we're set on uncommon giants this year- (well, not technically) WOTC_Shoe: but we'll see more giants.
Zaukrie: I'd like to nicely ask if this dragon (Large Bronze) is one of the new competitive ones or if we can still expect more WOTC_Shoe: we didn't quite get the Bronze into our Dragon Upgrade Program WOTC_Shoe: they get better
DariusTAD: Do you think you would ever release update cards for past dragons in the RPGA kits? WOTC_Shoe: We won't release a card that would have different stats - a player should only have to associate one set of stats with a given mini WOTC_Shoe: but if we redid a dragon, it could get better. WOTC_Shoe: or any mini, for that matter (Loyal Earth Elemental, for instance)
Mindtrick: Any plans for special scenarios like the Endor box for SW Minis? WOTC_Shoe: great idea WOTC_Shoe: no announced plans WOTC_Shoe: The Gargantuan Black has some scenarios that are cool WOTC_Shoe: my favorite is Rampaging Dragon
Planchet: Multiple? Wow._ WOTC_Shoe: two epic bands fight it out, with the dragon in the middle WOTC_Shoe: each band gets half of the dragon's activations WOTC_Shoe: so the dragon tears stuff up WOTC_Shoe: it's fun
glumaniac: Shoe, on behalf of the community we thank you for your time :) community thanks
WOTC_Shoe: no problem! I may be on later -- and I hope someone logged all the comments, so I can see what you guys really think!

Shoe has a great, although sometimes twisted, sense of humor. All you have to do is read what he posts here or in the previews to see that. Just goes to show that he pays atention to our own twisted sence of humor here at maxminis, and I thank him for that.
WotDairy Queen, and "What you expected a Minotaur?" are the first things that come to mind.
But yes, that's definately a Shoe-type hint for the Lord of Blades to be makins his way into DDM form by the end of the year. | | Champion of the Alhoon and my called shot for Unhallowed Blood War Called Shot: Phoenix Trade withe me! | |

While we have no reason to not believe Shoe, I can also add that it is my understanding that the Bronze Dragon was bumped from an earlier set, thus no upgrade...
I'm looking forward to seeing all the kick arse dragons from DQ (Maybe a cherry dipped White?)
