Is anyone else having trouble with deliveries from Canada? Wondering if its just me or what. The trades were supposed to have been sent on 1/5, 1/10 and 2/5 and none have arrived yet. The first two are trades worth $70+. Did learn that the 2/5 trade was never sent...yet.

I have been having a general run of bad luck with trades on maxminis of late. Very disappointing. Traders sending really late, lots of excuses, etc. Anybody else experiencing this?

Not from this site, but I have been waiting almost 2 weeks (11 days) for a package.

The strange thing is I got one from Germany that was shipped after the Canada one!

Most of my shipments have been pretty quick, a week or two to the US at most. My first ever package did take a month to arrive, but you're quite a bit beyond even that time frame.

On the WotC boards I've traded to Canada three times, twice with Kage who is also a solid trader. I've not had any problems, except that it takes 2+ weeks to arrive. No big deal, just delays across the border.

One thing to be sure of when you ship something to the Great White North... be sure that everything is in all Capital Letters. If not, it is likely to take a month and boomerang back to you.

To put it mildly, Canada Post sucks the chrome off a trailer hitch. They can take many weeks to deliver a package to an address in the States from which a package sent to Canada took a mere 3 days to arrive.

I have had little problem sening to the States (apart from the sometimes excruciatingly long delvery time) but I have had 2 different packages of D&D minis from the States go missing en route (and one was a damned Balor!). However, both were eBay purchases rather than trades and I think that perhaps the sellers were unsatisfied with the selling price and so pretended they went missing only to resell the items later.

I haven't had any problems with trades from/to Canada, and I've done quite a few.

Both my trades with Canada went very well. About two weeks for delivery, maybe a couple days less. Might just be where in Canada you're sending. Different providences might take different times.

I have made a ton of trades (well 3-4 dozen anyway) with traders in Canada in the past. It is just the last 3 or 4 months that I have started to have problems.

Seems that Canadian trades are taking longer. Don't know if that is reality, or just my impatience in waiting for the epic Mordenkainen card.

I've had 2 trades with Canada and both went smooth. I am in New York (relatively close to Canada) and it took to arrive about 8 business days. My end took longer both times to get there.

I received a few packages from Canada without problems. Sometimes it took a couple of weeks though. I have never had problems trading but this year it seems like people are trying to test my nerves.

I've been waiting on a Canadian trader to send his side ($90 worth) since Jan 12th. He finally contacted me last week and said he was sending it out last Friday...we'll see.

Then a member here (Tactician will know who I'm talking about) had great communication and shipped his side quickly. Problem was he didn't include the Underdark Epic card with the mini and he said he'd mail it out. It's been 2 weeks & I haven't got it & I can't get a response from him. I don't know if not getting an Underdark minis epic card is worth a bad trader dispute. Bad thing is I had marked it as a positive trade before I remembered the mini should have an epic card.

No problems of note, but it may depend on how your package is being shipped. This morning, I sent an ebay package to Canada (from the US). Global Priority mail costs $8.50 with a projected delivery time of 4-6 days. Air Parcel Post cost only $3.45 with a projected delivery time of 6-8 days. Pack Mule (land route) had a significantly longer delivery time (multiple weeks if I correctly remember...could have been as high as 4-6 weeks).

The man who thinks he can, and the man who thinks he can't are both right. Which one are you?

I purchased some minis from a Canadian seller, and he reported that his local post office was reluctant to accept the packages. Apparently they thought there was some sort of contraband being shipped. I did get the minis in about 3 or 4 weeks. Not entirely unreasonable, but not quick either.

I'm a Canadian trader, and I've done about 40 trades (about 30 to the U.S., the rest farther afield or within Canada). I always ship Air Mail, and typically it takes about two weeks for a package to get to the U.S. (and about the same on my end to receive - maybe a bit faster on average), two days within Canada (expedited shipping is only about a dollar more than regular service within Canada) and about 4 weeks elsewhere in the world.

However, I too have a recent shipment issue - a package that I sent around Dec 2nd to Australia that still hasn't been received - almost 3 months. Its interesting to hear that others are experiencing issues. I hope it gets resolved - I wouldn't want others on maxminis to have concerns making trades with Canadians!

I recently recieved from Canada and it only took about 10 days, two other trades I had took about 2 weeks.

The minis package I recieved had been held up by u.s. customs and opened and it still only took 10 days. The box I sent has not arrived yet (2 weeks +3 days) judging by the trade thread.
He got the mini about the time I wrote this so roughly about 2 weeks shipping either way.

Well shipments from the US are normally very quick but two recent orders I've made are about a month so far in shipping. A thrid package that was sent 3-5 business days took 6 instead. Maybe the problem has more to do with packages travelling outside the country?

Otherwise I feel obligated to blame it on Stephen Harper! [:P]

Shipping to and from Canada can be tricky business. I've seen packages take well over a month to travel to me from Canada. I've also had people claim that Canada Post sent their package back to them even though it was addressed (and posted) correctly.

Accordingly, I don't trade to Canada anymore unless the other side is willing to ship first, and there is no hurry on the trade.

Now theres a generalized statement[)]. I'm saddened that you would restric yourself from making trades to Canada based on the Postal Service's at times shoddy speed.

In my experience, the average time for one of my airmailed shipments to arrive has been 10-12 days. (NOTE: Shipping in December is a bad idea... Major delays then)

That said, all of my shipments arrived safely, even when they did encounter somewhat of a delay. I guess the other thing is that I never try to rush a trade (much less knowing that it has to cross the border, as all my trades have). I go into it expecting delays, and am pleasantly surprised when none arise.

Yes, Yack is serious about the shipping (at least for very small parcels). As the weight increases, though, int'l shipping quickly passes domestic in cost.

On topic...I just completed a trade with a trader in the US and both parcels took about 10 days (including 2 weekends) so 5-8 business days was accurate in this case. It seems to be hit or miss.

Prices are 5.95 to the US, 7.30 international and something around 8$ for XPRESSpost within Canada, a dollar less standard or close to that...

Hello all. As probably the most prominent seller in Canada, here is the shipping times we post, as from our experience:

Surface Small Packet (Cheapest) - 4-6 weeks, no tracking
Airmail Small Packet (mid-range) - 2 weeks, no tracking
USA Expedited - 2 weeks, "tracking" (loosely quoted becuase it really isn't useful)

Shipping is truly cheaper to send overseas than to our neighbour city, although the times of delivery are vastly different. It sometimes takes up to 2 or even 3 MONTHS for a surface parcel to make it overseas. We've had ONE take 4 months. Wow.

I hope this helps you all out a bit.

I will proudly support the statement: CANADA POST SUCKS. I'm trying to get our Member of Parliament (MP) to get some kind of movement going because Canada Post is killing our economy...
