True, but the fact that he is trying to take advantage of the uninformed is what makes his name a true statement. Because you gotta admit, charging 130$ for a little plastic figure is abusive. Hate is a very strong word and not to be used lightly. I don't hate Creep. I dislike Creep because his shipping is high (check some of his other auctions) and he frequently will not combine shipping on multiple orders. Is that his right? Absolutely! But exercising that right will INSURE he never gets any of my business. | Things are worth what people are willing to pay for them, end of story.
Your house, car, minis,(wife, kids, dog) all have a value that you'd give them up for... it might be extreme but there is a value.
If someone really wants a Drizzt... he can have one, for $129... Both sides win.
If nobody wants a Drizzt enough then it doesn't sell.
I wouldn't pay $129 for a Drizzt, I have one, why would I want a second?
If someone offered me $129 for it, I take the cash... I'll have to think of the value for my wife, but I think it would be more than a Drizzt... [:D]
Getting irritated because over these things isn't worth the energy.

| I don't see the issue; as long as it is actually Drizzt and has a card, the buyer (if anyone actually buys it - and you know someone will sooner or later, people are stupid) is getting what is promised. So what if they choose to spend what an entire case of boosters would cost? That is their prerogative. If someone can search for Drizzt on ebay, they should be smart enough to be able to find another auction for less.
Its not like Creep is actually promising something he hasn't got, or simply refusing to ship them, like SES/CKGames/Fantasy Quest.

| Just a couple of points. 1) We have no idea what HE paid for it. He might be making only $25 on the deal for all we know. Creep has frequently bought from me (and a few other dealers) which is fine with me as we have diffent bussiness models. I don't carry items I can no longer get at wholesale except for items I already have. I don't speculate and have a flat markup (overall) that I shoot for. When you speculate you can get burned far too easy so he should try and make as much as he can, while he can. 2) The "its only a piece of plastic" agrument is bad because what is a $100 bill really....only a piece of paper (and no I won't send any of ya'll one [:)]. Every collection, fad or lasting has had people say this. I use to sell alot of magic cards out of my brick and morter and would hear this all the time. All possesions have a value (even if only to oneself) and that flucuates with demand. 3) My wife and kids are not possesions and are priceless TO ME. | | I R SPEELING GOD | |

Drizzt is $140 on Zenako's because only 1 store has him in stock, and they're asking $140 for it. It's kind of like how a hot dog costs $8 at the ballgame. Or how a box of candy costs $3 at the theater. Because they control the market, they can set the price to whatever they want. This is what creep is doing as well. By buying up pieces from other sellers, he will eventually have control over the market of older figures (more or less), and they will cost as much as he wants to charge. That's the way capitalism works. It's a good way for him to make a profit, but will make it harder for players to get the older pieces they want. | | Champion of Gnomes

| I don't see what the issue is here. They're his minis, let him list them for whatever he likes. You know we'll all gawk when someone actually pays that much for it.
The $140 value on Zenako's seems pretty consistent with relative difference between the price guides and the Ebay market. Drizzt regularly sells for >$70 on Ebay auctions. Zenako has been very clear minis can be purchased on ebay for 50% to 67% of the price guide value. In terms of %, this price difference is similar for most of the minis on the list, it's just seems more extreme because Drizzt is the most expensive mini on the market.
Creep's asking price may be high, but it's similar to the 1 online store that is selling him. I feel Creep's prices and shipping charges are higher than I'm willing to pay so I don't buy from him. The few things I've read from him (posts here, Ebay feedback) do seem to have a negative attitude as well. If you share these concerns don't buy, otherwise happy bidding. I'm just glad we have an open secondary market with lots of sellers to choose from to buy singles.
Off topic: I must say that it breaks my heart to think I once traded away a Drizzt for 2 Dire Wolves.[:(][B)][xx(] | | Have: Cat; Want: Storm Giant Champion of Anything Dragonlance Before trading, please check the Disputed Trades Thread

| Geeesh. How many of these (poorly named) threads do we need? Not only are they a complete waste of space, as people that think he is charging too much won't buy from him anyways, but the thread has such a vague name that those of us that'd rather spend our (theoretically) limited amount of time reading relevant threads can't avoid it.

| Why are we always amazed at what people are asking price-wise on eBay? There are always those who list things way above the norm. It is no worse than the crazy prices of the other online stores. The only fool is the person who pays that price.
I see a lot of stores listing older rares for very high prices. They rarely ever sell them at those prices though. They are not really serious about moving them, just fishing. | | 270+ Trades Completed (194 maxminis | 50 wizards | 29 hordelings) References: http://www.maxminis.com/Forums/tabid/104/view/topic/forumid/53/postid/435268/Default.aspx H/W List: http://www.maxminis.com/hwlist.asp?user=gausse Bad Trades: Chaotic Good (Strongbow Lone Eagle), dndonuts, Allard, ScottWallace Email: gausse2@yahoo.com

| Honestly, the market will decide whether or not Creep's prices are too high or not. While I'd love to have a Drizzit (the only drow mini I'm currently missing), I have zero desire to buy one for that kind of price (or anywhere close to it). But, if someone is willing to pay what Creep charges, then that is their loss and Creep's gain.
Personally, I'll keep my business with Auggie - better prices, better shipping charge, and always a good experience. And I'll learn to live without the big D (especially since I only want him for every drow mini, not to skirmish - my 'all drow' fixation isn't worth that).
