We've gotta have the less-desirable monsters too, though. Remorhaz could almost headline a set by itself. But yeah, Death/Eldritch Giants would be really cool, and so would some Huge demons (bebilith/nalfeshnee/retriever) but I suspect they're being saved for another set. | | Champion of the Aboleth, Prophet of Denizens. For serious. If we didn't have that box image, no way I'd believe it. But still, we're up to 4 out of 6 Huge rares as draconic already. Add in the very likely Hydra and the reasonably likely Forest Giant(which should totally be an aboleth!) and you're out of room. | | Champion of the Aboleth, Prophet of Denizens. | In a conversation with Shoe and some others, he was discussing how he didn't see the need/want for the PHB iconics because no one cares. He said that he felt iconics should either be something with strong roots in D&D history like Warduke or Obould, and he did make mention of the Dragonlance characters (this was topic was talked about in the chat I saw as well). Lord of Blades was of course mentioned as the same type. The other type of iconic he mentioned was stuff like Snig (he stated they had to make him unique as a non unique 20pt commander with minions would end up banned otherwise) and Shuluth that are either created or have just a small amount of history (shuluth mentioned elsewhere)...
this is just a brief recall of the discussion as I dont have the exacts etc, but the general point and biggest point was expect more stuff like Warduke that pushes towards D&D history. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

I'd much prefer this approach. If they continue to produce the classic D&D icon figures (i.e. Raistlin) and continue to give us a selection of cool PC minis (like the Warpriest of Moradin, Combat Medic, etc.) instead of PHB icons (Alhandra, Sovelis, etc) I'll be a happy monkey. | | Have: Cat; Want: Storm Giant Champion of Anything Dragonlance Before trading, please check the Disputed Trades Thread

| Brad:
Can you clarify what you wrote? You indicate that the Huge Spider will be a "promo". Everyone has assumed that this figure will be a repainted uncommon from teh set (because that is what every other prerelease figure has been). But is that what you meant, or do you actually know? Were they actually saying that this might be a 13th huge?
The rest of my spoilers have already been spoiled...

| A Huge Spider would be both a great promo AND a great Uncommon Huge! I also do not use Elves of Color, but can think of a lot of uses for a huge spider! Nice scoop!
As to prospective huges, if they NEVER make an Yrthak mini, I will be VERY happy. What a goofy critter.

| A fiendish huge spider is WONDERFUL- you can sub it in for a bebilith too :)
I'm less enthused about two Aspects being Huge Rares- yuck. I guess Bahamut will server as a huge silver dragon, but Tiamat is completely useless to me- even as a Hydra she'd be a bit too distracting. There's only four PHB iconics left. The iconics you mention are mainly gonna show up in the Rare slot. How bad would it really be to complete the cycle and produce the last four uncommon, low level, beginner helping iconics? One per set for a year or so and "poof" you're done. It shouldn't take away from the fan boy iconics. We get pieces that can be generic class pieces anyway. This would give them a chance to make some strong but cheap pieces (like Aramil) without taking a chance at needing to ban something. | | Never teach a pig to sing. Well, there are probably multiple Aspects of Bahamut running around. However, if any two of them meet, it's likely to result in a Highlander-style beat down fest of platinum fury. Aspects don't (as a rule) like each other. Aspects of the same diety ESPECIALLY don't like each other. Of course, Aspects can rarely be bothered to interact with mortals and don't (as a rule) lead them--but still the Aspect of Moradin is a Commander. That one made my head hurt.
As for the eventuality of an Aspect meeting the source--I would presume that the source would be able to relatively easily reclaim the life essence that manifested in the Aspect. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?
