| Sorry, should have done this right off the bat.
Some of you already know me from the WotC forums (and I know some of you as well) and hopefully all who do are glad to see me here as well. ;)
I'm a DDM player since day-one and a member of the DDM discussion community since long before that date - anyone remember the "these minis will all be ugly and the game will suck" rubbish?
I actually opened an account here on MaxMinis on the day the site went live (or pretty damned close to it) and did a few trades back then but the account seems to have vanished (through disuse I imagine) so I rejoined. Luckily no punk-ass tried to swipe my username in the meantime.
Since I fear I may lose my WotC account through the overzealous hair-trigger of a new WizO - who seems so eagre to show he's doing his job that he hands out official warnings like condoms and a freshman mixer - I may end up posting here exclusively before too long.

I was also with the WotC boards since the beginning. I came here exclusivly around Dragoneye/Archfiends.
Your the reason I heard of this place. You mentioned you needed a Human Blackguard to complete Harbinger and were tying to get on on a trading forum called Maxminis so I checked it out.[:D]
Its about time you came to where the partys at.

| Welcome (back) to the boards Sulaco. We're all glad to see the DDM community, and this site grow!
A word of caution though: My expereince with the WotC site is that it is filled with attacks, vindictve posts, and flame wars. The moderators on this site do an excellent job of making sure that such threads/posts do not get going here. If you fear your going to get bounced at the WotC site because of those types of posts, your better off to change your posting habbits in general.
There are MANY WotC posters who once slogged thourgh the WotC boards on a regular basis, but gave them up. I know I'm in that category. I look forward to seeing more of what you have to say!

AFAIK Jai did a purge of user accounts that were not active for something like 8 months, he did this a few months ago, you might've been part of that cleansing.
In any case, great to see ya this side of the net and I was aware of your name by your outstanding repaints and work on miniatures, to be truthful the primary reason why I visited the wotc forums on occasion, that and the other to clarify the occasional spaz and their misinterpretation of certain events [)]

I was an individual who only lurked on WotC until I heard of this place. I've yet to look at WotC forums since. The general attitude over here is much friendlier. And the Hazing involved is much less embarissing [)].

I think the mods here do a great job.
I also don't think that is why Sulaco got a warning. There was a post with the (apparent) overuse of the word "ass". Not used in a derogatory way, but in a funny way. The new DDM Wizo (who has been making his presence felt) didn't think it was quite as funny.

| Welcome aboard Sulaco. As you remember I too was a WotC board guy to begin with (from the chainmail days).
The water is much better over here in Maxminis land. As long as you follow Merric's simple rules (basically treat people like you weren't on a webchat board - with respect) you should be all set.
I go back to the WotC boards once in a while and can't believe the open hostility on those boards (even on general posts where no flamewars are going on). Yeah, I'll say it again, it's much better at Maxminis! | | | |

Not at all. I fear I might get bumped from the WotC boards cos a new WizO is being mighty overzealous. I get no warning for more than 2 years - indeed a got several personl messages from WizOs thanking me for my posting style and for trying to keep the peace - and then suddenly get two from the same new WizO in less than a two month period for, apparently, "baiting".
Anyway, aside from all that, glad to be aboard and to see so many friendly and a familiar folk. :D | |

i am sure you will find maxminis far more friendly then the WoTC boards.
i went on the Wotc boards for the first time in August of 2004, looking to make a trade and found out about maxminis, Since then, i've made 7o-ish trades here and not a single there. I only go to check Guyf's rulings and thats it

I too started out over on the WoTC trading boards, but was frustrated by the lack of activity. There's a great trading community here, and I just logged my fourth continent recently.
