And Warduke's helmet and eyes look... horrid.
And calling the paintjob of the Frost Dwarf horrid would be complimenting it.
I'm afraid this is a bit of a backslide in terms of painting quality, at least for certain figures. That frost dwarf is in competition with the white dragon, for crying out loud.
On the bright side, the Hill Giant Barb is a very nice paintjob, and the Chimera is pretty solid. The Bronze Dragon is gorgeous. | |

It's sad to hear that the quality of paint dropped a bit. Underdark had quite a few remarkable paintjobs (albeit simple) but very few outright poor paintjobs (Mounted Drow Patrol as a notable exception [XX(]). | |

I think other than one or two figures the paintjobs are amazing in this set. Even the Wardrummer is a killer quality paintjob.

| My Sand Giant's eyes are just fine. My chimera doesn't look like the master paint [)] but it is ok I guess...will be retouching this one. Warduke is perfect for me, only difference is no blood on the sword.
War Troll is bleh...really not impressed, will be trading my second one. Large Bronze is also somewhat of a meh...there's no rust and that was a nice detail so to the trade bucket with the second one.
I will agree that by far the frost dwarf is a horrid paintjob, they looked so much better online.
Coolest detail I saw on one of my minis is that the blackblade goblin has a nose ring (loop) [:D] mine is all nice and silver painted...just one tho, the others do not. | |

| My figures look fine for th emost part - the sand giant and wemic have great eyes. My Gulgar is looking to his right, which is kind of funy.
What I DID notice was that my Warpriest of Moradin has black splotches on his head where I guess they forgot to paint. other than that, the paint jobs I've seen are outstanding. | |

| Yeah I noticed a few pieces on the "ew" side this time around as well
The Frost Dwarf is just white with blue paint thrown on with no care as to where it landed.
My Warpriests of Moradin are all dark and splochy not and crisp and bright as the master paint.
The Large Bronze no longer has it Corrosion effect
My Warhulk has Googley-eyes
I realize that master paints are just that and we shouldn't judge what we have in our hand by them; but when they look so damn good and we get handed this kinda stuff, it really detracts from the overall appeal of the product. At least come CLOSE to the master paint please.... | |

| I noticed that some of the minis got too much black wash. I have a warpriest of moradin tht looks as if he came down a chimney and one of my axe soldiers has almost black armor (looks kinda cool and evil)
Other axes and priests were fine.
My chimera is pretty dark too. | |

| One thing that I try to do when I look at a minis paint job is to see how it looks from 5 feet away. It is not often that I'm holding the minis up to my face to look into it's eye (if you do, then more power to ya). Lookinf at the mini frm 5 ffet away is how it will look across the table or from above. This makes much more sense to me.
Now I'm not saying that the stuff Runelord is doing is bad, just the contrary. I would love to have a superbly painted trophy that I can look over, but for play, these minis look great... and better then I could most likely do. | |

| I had a Greycloak Ranger where the black dab of paint that was to go on his mouth was to high and it was right under his nose. It looked like a Hitler Mustache.
I had a Man-at-Arms with no paint on one arm so it was black.
Ragnara must havee her eyes and mouth sprayed on with a stencil. Her eyes and mouth were all off to the side on her cheek.
Harbinger Mummies were weird to...Some were almost black and some where bright tan...There were blackwash issues. | |
