| I just opened my case half way through and so far 2 Dragonne (one will be up for trade..I think)First time I ever got 2 same rares in case. Why couldn't it be the Chimera (one so far)

I bought one case and got duplicate aspect of morodins. Needless to say, I wasn't very pleased. I'm trading away one for a rare that I need, but it's a real kick in the teeth to receive two of the same rares in the same case.
Off topic: I also got a shuluth, archvillain that was missing an arm. The arm wasn't even in the bag, so I can't glue it back together.

| i think they seed the boxes with first 12 boosters - all random rares
next 12 boosters.. the missing 11 rares + 1 rare from the next set of 23 rares.. so
12 unique group 1
11 unique group 1 + 1 unique group 2
12 unique group 2
10 unique group 2 + 2 unique group 3
12 unique group 3
9 unique group 3 + 3 unique group 4
etc
so there is a possibility of dupe rares

| An Update:
So I left 3 boosters unopened in that case that netted me the dupe Warbound Impalers.
This morning, I opened the first of the final 3 boosters and inside was a...Large Bronze Dragon! Then I open the next one and it's, you guessed it, another Large Bronze Dragon!
Combined with my 2 pulls yesterday in Sealed and my original LBD from my frst case and I now have a whopping five Large Bronze Dragons.
I love em and all, but still no Aspect of Hextor, Zakya Rakshasa, or King Obould. And that's out of 33 total starters and boosters. | |

In total my case had:
2 Warbound Impalers
2 Snig Worg Riders
Night Hag
Shuluth, Archvillian
Ogre War Hulk
Sand Giant
Aspect of Moradin
Dragon Totem Hero
Obould Many Arrows
Arcane Ballista
No Dragonne, no Large Bronze Dragon, no Chimera, no Zakya Rakshasa, no War Drummer, no War Troll, no Aspect of Hextor, no Dragonne.
I also have been less then lucky in my packs so far, pulling another Aspect of Moradin, Obould Many-Arrows, and an Arcane Ballista. On the bright side I did pull 2 Dragonnes and a Night Hag which is decent, since I am still only 1 away from getting the trio of each I want.
I also broke down and ordered 3 Zakyas and a Wardrummer from Auggie's, as that still leaves me open to getting more copies through packs without meeting my threshold. I was able to trade for the Chimera, through the wonderful trade forum here. I really hope I won't have to trade for or buy the LBD. It looks like it going to be tough to get... | |

I'm very sad about this. I hadn't had a case with duplicates since Archfiends prior to this.
Some people are speculating that the change to 23 rares caused this, since it doesn't divide by... well, anything. If that's that case, I hope we never have a set with 23 rares again, because pulling duplicates out of a case is a real bummer. | |

Yeah and I REALLY don't like the prospect of getting 2 sets of duplicats in a single case.....but two LBzD's must have been nice at least.
But the amount of Rares should honestly have nothing to do with there being dupes in a case. That should only ever happen if we get 11 rares in a set. The distro SHOULD still be selectively-random enough that with 23 Rares, dupes should not occur.
Add this to the laundry list of other things that have taken Wardrums from the Best set (IMO) in a long time to the most frustrating set ever.....(IMO) | |

Wizards claimed they didn't see a pattern and now here we are. I don't see it being the odd rare because if they split the rares in groups of 12. We could complete a set in 2 cases or get 2 identical cases. | |

Not that I'm complaining. Also, as a side note, I pulled them off of the bottom of the case, one from the booster on the left, one in the booster on the right. Just noting it since I remembered it. | |

| I don't like where this is going. I specially buy cases to not have doubles. All in all, I pay more for one case, then if I would buy loose boosters in the store here.
I never had doubles in my case.. I started buying from deathknell? Not too long, I guess I don't have much experience. | |

Since Aberrations I have only had 2 cases with duplicate rares. One of my DK cases had one, as well as 1 of my WD cases. Much better than the first 3 sets. | |
