| Well, the boards seem to be dominated by all these "I ordered 23 cases and pulled 15 Chimeras". Slight exaggeration, but you know what I mean. So this thread is for those of us who either can't afford or were simply too lazy (like me) to preorder 2 metric tonnes of plasticrack.
I stopped at my FLGS on the way home today and picked up a starter and one booster. How's that for restraint, eh? [:)] Anyway, I pulled a Sand Giant and a Gulgar which both look nice. I have to say that I'm very impressed with both the quality and the usefulness of the minis, especially the commons. The Horde Zomblie and Howling Orc minis look great IMHO.
Also, my wife (who already loves Heroscape) has been hinting that she'd like to learn DDM for ages. Now that I have the new starter with the revised rules, now's the perfect opportunity!
Anyone else just pick up a booster or two out of curiousity? I'd love to hear of someone only getting one booster and pulling a Chimera. | |

I agree. I nearly bought a booster today. The only thing that held me off (barely) is that I am going to the release event tomorrow and getting a booster + starter. Then I will be going out of town for a week on business. That should hold me off until the other boosters arrive... | |

| I plan on purchasing my 3 boosters (one of each art) today. I will get a starter, but only from amazon or the like. I'm not in real desperate need for the starter, is why. I'd rather get it for as cheap as possible.

| Probably Tuesday before I get my first case and later then that for my second so I caved and picked up a starter and two boosters. Held off on the starter to let my son open it in the morning. Got a Gulgar and Zakya Rakshasa (HGB too) as the rares. Content for now, will get nuts when my son's Warforged army comes in from Auggie's [:D]
edit: Oh and I've not seen anyone comment on the new style for the checklist either but I think its a nice change up. | |

| | It's great to hear about people's pulls from single boosters. I think the adrenaline rush is far more intense when you know you've just got that one chance (for now). Plus the first couple of boosters are the best because all the minis are new. After that you just start tossing minis on piles of common/uncommon duplicates. | |

| Well, I managed to get to the shop today, and plunked down my check for 2 Starters and 2 boosters. It's not much, but you've got to start somewhere!
Out of those four boxes, I netted:
1 Large Bronze Dragon
1 Zakya Rakshasa
1 Warbound Impaler
1 Warduke!

From the starters, we pulled a Shuluth and a Large Bronze Dragon.

| I took a van full of kids to the release tournament. I paid for four of us. The kids call me their sponsor. I pay, they give me what they win. It's a great deal for me. I also took 3rd place and so won some boosters (they all lost, so much for my sponsoring!).

| I've gotten 6 boosters now and so far my rare pulls have been
Chimera great scuplt, bad paint job but still =[:D]
Aspect of Moradin good scuplt and best paint job I've seen yet in War Drums = [:D]
Wemic Barbarian blah paint job and a poor assembly (he looks cut in two) = [V]
Khumat I am surprised how much I loved the scuplt of this one - it fits perfectly into my current campaign too (snake men and their allies) very blah paint job for a rare = [:)]
Obrad Many Arrows meh rare Orcs are never good and I've never even heard of this guy before = [V]
Ogre War Hulk - as an RPGer I think I have my fill of large Ogres,Giants or any other human looking big guy. I am much more interested in the wierder monsters for which there aren't good stand ins. This is defeinately a good mini but I found I just wasn't too thrilled pulling it = [:(] | |

Chimera, Bronze dragon, War troll & Rakshasa.
Nice spread of commons and uncommons, only unwanted was a triple lion dude.

| at the release I pulled a chimera out of the starter/booster for the event and another one out of the 4 boosters I won.

| So far I have purchased 1 starter and 4 boosters. As I mentioned previously, the starter and booster yielded a Sand Giant and Gulgar. My 2nd booster gave me Zakya Rakshasa. Nice sculpt and paint job on that guy I have to say!
The other day I went into my FLGS and purchased 2 boosters. I had my wife open them since she normally brings me good luck, not that I believe in that sort of thing. The first one came out with King Obould. So did the 2nd one. [:(] I couldn't believe I got 2 in a row like that. I think I'll have my 3 year old daughter open up the boosters from now on. She's obsessed with the Hunting Cougars! They make great house cats for her dolls house apparently. It's a good thing those little buggers are commons!
Anyway, not to worry on the 2 x King Obould. I've already posted the spare in a trade with devasque. [:)] | |
