| While I really hate to post negative things about WotC or about minis, I must say I'm increasingly disappointed with the quality of War Drums.
While filing and organizing my new minis last night (2 cases) I opened the card packs and began to sort and file them in deck protectors. I was very careful with the cards; they had only been out of the booster for a few hours (in a safe, cat free location) and were still in their plastic packaging.
What I found was disappointing. I have numerous damaged cards straight out of the plastic. One of my Aspect of Hextor Cards has a 2cm tear in it. I have numerous cards (~10 in all, particularly the Goblin Blackblade) with heavy creases in them (as if the card had been folded in half, creased hard, and then re-straightend). I've been collecting DDM from the beginning and I've never seen damaged cards in the booster packs. I'll be contacting WotC customer service in a few minutes.

| One of my Lolth's Sting cards from Underdark looked like it was folded in half and straightened out right from the pack. None of the other cards in the booster were damaged. Weird.
Since it was a common I didn't do anything about it though, I had plenty of her already.

| Yes, I have. I have also noticed that several of the cards I have have a creas or a severe bend in them. At first I thought that it might have been some mechanical bending while I was pulling out the cards from the booster. But then I noticed this effect after I started being extra careful.
It is a pain to try and sort through cards to make sure trades have the best stuff leaving me with busted and bent cards does not make me happy. I wonder how the larger volume "stores"/ebayers are going to handle this as well. This only happened on a few cards for me. But I could see the numbers growing quite large if I opened thirty cases... | | Ambassador of FUN!!!

| | At our release tournament here in New York, and when some friends of mine and I opened a few cases afterwards, I not only noticed a number of bent, warped and scratched/faded cards, but I pulled a Dragon Totem Hero that is missing his right arm! The miniature is still in its plastic bag and no loose arm is with, so it had to happen before it was packaged. | | | |

| | I've never had anything like a stat card with a 2 cm tear in it, but I was disappointed to find a couple of the cards with creases in them. These things are supposed to be brand new and more or less perfect. And yes, I hadn't noticed this in any of the previous sets. | The rip on the rare card was what really upset me. I've contacted WotC customer service so we'll see.
I did have a number of other cards with dents or scratches on them, but the tear and creases was particularly upseting.

| | I had one card that was kind of bent, but it was a common so no big deal. I did open a pack of cards and it had 15 cards in it instead of 8. When I was going to open it, I was like man this feels like a lot more cards. And it sure was. No extra rare cards though, so not really much of a "find". But, this kind of fluke is a lot better than having a rip or something like that, so I'm not complaining. | | Champion of a Knight of Takhisis/Knight of Neraka | |

| The only damaged WD card I got was a Brass Samurai -- and there were two cards in the pack.
But in Underdark I got several damage cards right out of the pack. (I've also gotten a few from more recent SWM packs.) | | My H/W list is not current... Trade Reference List OLD Trade references (191)

| Hi All,
I haven't got any WD yet but out of three cases of underdark I had about 35-40 cards that were damaged from in the sealed packs. They had indentations/creases in them and some had frayed/bent/smashed corners like they seen heavy abuse before they were packaged. Very disappointing and has impacted my desire for WD minis. | I've actually been pulling creased/bent cards for some time.
Personally, so long as the text is intact and the card is in otherwise good shape I'm not worried. As of yet, there is no grading system for DDM (cards or minis), and I hope it stays that way.
Anyway, since I sleeve my cards (all of them, including the tradestock) I don't worry overmuch because the sleeve will protect the card from further damage.
That's not to say I'm not concerned about the sudden and dramatic upswing in the reports of damaged cards and "missing limb" minis, but I'm not hitting a panic button yet. If it continues into WDQ, I'll start getting annoyed. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| Lemme see, over 3,000 minis since Harbinger and I have one bent card - a halfling slinger. Pretty good quality overall. Still, if it were a torn rare instead of a crumpled common, that might make a difference. It's surprising how few problems there are. | | I have always been here. | |

| Out of the hundreds of cases that I've opened since the beginning of D&D minis, I've had a few damaged cards in each set that has come out. Ripped, bent, dogeared, creased, bowed, dirty fingerprints, and my personal favorite: dropped on the floor and stepped on. Yes, I swear, the dang card had a sneaker shoe print on it!
As far as damaged minis in sealed bags: a Hook Horror without it's shell, a Blackscale Lizardfolk without it's head, and a Sword of Glory that had it's arms detached.
As far as War Drums go, I have noticed more than usual, warped and dogeared cards still in the plastic. | | Champion of the Lamia www.tygrhobbes.com

You also have to consider just how many figures some of us have. Personally, I'm sitting right about 3000. So far, my "missing pieces" number is three. That's right, one in one thousand. That's not terrible when you consider everything.
My number on cards is a little worse, as I've received probably a dozen or so noticably bent/creased cards. But still, even if we double that number to 24, we're only talking about 1 in one hundred twenty five cards--still under 1%.
Now think about what guys like Zenako must see... | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

1 in a 1000 is about right, I have about a 1000 or so minis and only one damaged card. I don't even think it was WOTC fault, the centaur card from harbinger looked like it had been torn in half and taped back together. Since I got it in a trade I couldn't say who's fault it was.
another thing i've noticed is the warforged captain, I have 5 and two have bright gold breast plate and knee guards the other 3 the plate and guards range from very dull gold to black.
