| This is a letter/fax/E-mail I was thinking about sending to WOTC as I sometimes think they fail to realize that they have Global consumers. What do you guys think? Any comments will be welcomed. Also, does anybody have the 1800 number to WOTC? Thanks. FYI. A similar post has also been made on the WOTC site.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear WOTC (Or whoever reads this with some authority)
Greeting, as a consumer of your D&D miniature line, I'm almost always 100% please with your product. Save for a missing card here or there, even an missing arm on a mini or two, nothing has detered me from enjoying your great line of products.
DDM in Singapore (that's in South East Asia for you geographically challenged like me) was once a barren miniature landscape but I've managed to cajole and persuade at least 26 other people to join me. I also run and organizing DCI scantioned tournaments and I do all this for free because like many others around the world, I simply love this game. We now play once a week every week (barring holidays) for about a year and a half now and have, collectively, spent a small fortune on this hobby.
My question is with regards to the release of the War Drums 'Starter and particularly the "Demongate map". You see, I live in Asia and we're just getting the retailer kits from June...of LAST YEAR :( The players here are, to say the least, distraught over the fact that we have to wait such a lonnnnnngggg time before getting the 'Corrected Demongate Map'. Especially since they want all tournaments here to be DCI sanctioned. So I was wondering, if I were to consolidate all our maps and mail them to you will you do likewise and mail the "corrected" ones back? All the way back to Asia, Singapore, where we live?
Thanks.

| Look good. it is nice and polite and is a reasonable request. I would change this part quote: ...of LAST YEAR :(
to just say "of 2005" without the emoticon or capitial letters. Capitial letters always make it seem like you're shouting on the internet, imo. | | Completed Trades: Crescent Hawk, Vimes, demagogue, vidman, Eric is God, Strachan Fireblade, FungiMuncher, Dudeeehm, Shasack, gausse, kyrin, nyjastul69 Champion of the Remorhaz | |

| Looks good.
I agree with Pale Rider. I would also change "lonnnnnngggg" to "long".
Minor grammar correction: I think you meant "100% pleased" when you wrote "100% please".

| Just remember, you will get far more information and responses from a positive letter then from a negative. Empasis what/why the product is enjoyed and then bring up the need for the maps. You never know, they might send you a pack to hand out to players in your area, or they may ask for each person to call, like with the Hellspike Prison map issue.

| You won't believe the lengths I had to go just to get the game started. First it was me and Alex (Lexander on Maxminis) playing twice a week at the same hobby shop for about 5 months, slowing gaining interest. From 2 to 5 players, then 8 ,then 10...a year later there are now 26 of us.
Everytime I saw someone even remotely interested I would slide alongside and do my 'sales pitch'. Of course this is a great game that sells itself so it made it easy. But I got to tell ya...organizing the tournaments and all is HARD. My dream is to have all the players in Asia, I mean like Thailand, Phillipines, Maylaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, China, Korea and Japan to get together and compete...like I said...a dream. | | Vassal Tournament Constructed Group# 1 & 2-Champion "You are, what you do, when it counts". ------------------------- Sucessful Trade - Pan(2), Lexander (2) Trilistria (1) | |

There is nothing like a dream... Take a look at the European Championship. Looks like they are expecting 80+ players, WotC representatives, and the 2004 champ to be in attendance. Top 4 get invites (though not a paid trip I don't think) to the Championship at GenCon.
Throw open the invite to your neighbors, and see what happens!

| It all starts with a single step.
By the way, for those of us behind a firewall and filter that will not let us get to the Wizards boards, what was commented on about the maps? | | Sean Banks Champion of Elementals Official Organizer Gen Con 05 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 06 maxminis Event | Gen Con 06 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 07 Community Event | |

Talafenix's response on WOTC board:
quote: Just so everyone knows I'm English and with that comes a huge sensitivity towards our global distribution. Sadly we're part of a huge company with localized offices and like a huge oil tanker it takes time to turn it. Especially in regards to getting things shipped internationally then shipped onwards to the final destination.
I will make Dale Aitken (head OP guy for Asia and based at Hasbro Australia) aware of this and see how fast his plans are to get these to you.

That is awesome news for the players in Asia. Hopefully Ian and Dale can get this all worked out quickly. | | Sean Banks Champion of Elementals Official Organizer Gen Con 05 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 06 maxminis Event | Gen Con 06 maxminis Event | Winterfantasy 07 Community Event | |
