| I pulled one in my case, but I think only one other was pulled at the Midnight Release Party.
Now at the tournament that weekend, I think something like 4 War Trolls were pulled. I couldn't go. [:(]

| Again, while it is the most expensive rare in the set it seems, its really not a good miniature. It really looks like they cut a lot of corners with it heh. I really dont like the mold lines where all the heads combine, it just looks very bad. Its unfortunate that a peice with such promise ended up being very subpar.
But yea, obviously plenty of ppl are pulling them, I just dont think everyone wants to give them up =) | |

| I agree the chimera held the most promise. But, IMHO, the mold line and the poor paint are part of the price of mass production or pre paints.
Not trying to throw salt or anything. Corners have to be cut. I used to feel the same way after seeing the time effort and energy spent on the figs from GoL. Then came Ab, I was shocked and dismayed. But I have since gotten over and taken the figs for what they really are and the original purpose that I got into collecting them; time savers.
The pre-paints save me tons of time. The chimera the pinnicale of this time saving effort. I need at least 3 chimeras for an upcoming adventure. I have little time between school, work and the wife to sit down to clean, prime, and paint the three chimeras I need. Let alone all the other support figures needed like the gobbos and the orcs.
I am not saying that the poor quality should be applauded. I understand that if there are going to be multiple parted figures then we should expect these types of problems. Otherwise, we are going to have a price hike to get pieces like the chimera to be as stellar as a single individual could make. As I think there might be a slight difference between me sitting down to make three and a company trying to make 3000 of the same figure.
Again not saying that I like the sub-par nature of the beast, just saying that I understand the beast and explaining my point of view before we start in on killing the beast... [:D] | |
